-What is a benchmark?

-What is the easiest way to tell if somebody has one drive partitioned into two drives without taking the case off?

-Would I be correct in saying that a descreen tells the scanner what it is scanning so that it can help improve the image?

-I've never ever been able to get my head around file allocation tables beacuse no matter who explains it to me I never understand it. but its worth one more try....

in order:

- a standardized scoring system, scores are relative to the 'benchmark'

- you can't tell by taking the case off.. (Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Comp. Management) is one way

- don't know what you're talking about

- never looked into it, but to be honest, who cares (all you need to know, in general, is: NTFS > FAT32 > FAT16)

That's just cold, Orbax. Not everyone is educated as some other more knowledgeable people.

File allocation tables... basically fat 32 is saying oK we are dividing the hard drive into X 32bit slots. if you save a 3 bit file, it will take up an entire 32bit slot. they dont go smaller than 32. 16 is 16 bits long

and then NTFS!!!! came out for 4 bits. so it saves a lot of space.
