So, if piper is good why havent I heard of him/her/them :conf:

Piper at the Gates of Dawn was the first album released by Pink Floyd when Syd Barrett was still a member...before his spiral into the darkest realms of insanity.

Piper at the Gates of Dawn is one of the first albums of Pink Floyd. Basically any early Pink Floyd, (when Syd Barrett was still in the band) will pretty much fulfill your request.

A lot of good stuff falls under this for me... a lot of ambient, new age, chill out... several recommended artists:

Tangerine Dream - Love On A Real Train, lots of their stuff is so lush
Vangelis - lots of things from his Blade Runner soundtrack to more recent music
Global Communication - 76:14 (this album is a MUST)
Craig Armstrong's music
Yanni - Keys To Imagination
Deus Ex: Invisible War - OST (which you can d/l from deusex.com)

Gosh there's so much.

Heard a Bjork track a while ago, can't remember what it was called but it was a major mind
