Will this equalizer work?

I performed some searches with Google on this matter, but it didn't come up with any satisfying results, so here we go again:
I have an old Fisher CA-38 integrated stereo amplifier with a graphic equalizer connected to the soundcard and my speaker system. The equalizer is an easy to use 5-band one, so it would be more convenient for me to use this together with the my hardware synth instead of its built-in 3-band equalizer. The amplifier/equalizer was actually part of a stereo system, but is a stand-alone box.
Would it work to have this piece of amplifier connected to my synth, or does it have to be a certain type of amp/equalizer? I've also studied the back panel of the synth, and it seems like the "INPUT"-slot is the one I should connect the equalizer in. Is the connecting-part really that simple, or do you have to do some additional connecting? The synth's manual only described the "INPUT"-slot with a few sentences and it didn't make me any smarter.
Thanks to those who took the time to read through this. If this is yet another obvious question, bare with me. :) |

By the sounds of it, it doesn't sound like the best eq to use. The better eq fx out there are the parametric eq. The graphic eq doesn't let you choose your frequency and bandwidth like a parametric does.
A hardware eq for the synth would sit between the out of the synth and the in of the sound card. |

Aha, that's the way to connect it. Then I think this one is out of question. Besides, I need it on this 2nd computer as well. :) |
