| here's one for ya... in 2004 the word "bling-bling" was taken out of the dictionary and replaced with the word "bling" . there was an entire article in my local paper about words that got entered or deleted from the dictionary. Another funny one was "metro-sexual" was removed. Tell me you guys have seen that metro-sexual South Park episode. BEYOND funny! |

Nobody was knocking the fact that you shout instead of singing. It's a valid form of music and can be good if the artist bothers to put a little creativity in (even trance lovers will admit that trance sucks when the artist isn't creative). But most of what makes it out into the world is just a catchy noise played over and over in the background and some guy shouting over the top like he's (or she's) the first person to ever discover shouting. Bling is the attitude... it's all sex and money and people thinking they're being original or that their cockyness means when it doesn't. If hip hop/r&b artists want respect, they should stop strutting around and start putting some actual creativity into the music they make. And lay off the medallions... jeez. |
