Greeks get trance.
When I first got into trance...who got me into it? My Greek mates.
When I went to my first rave, who took me? Paul Diacogiorgious.
When I first got into tranceaddict, who ruled the boards? A greek called Stipsy.
Now Melbourne has like the 3rd largest Greek population in the world...who is the Big Greek trance DJ? Well the modern version may be Pana. But who is the original?
One man.
BILLY SOLOS.
He will be appearing at the next San Tran. I got three text messages from friends telling me "OMFGZZZZZ SOLOS IS PLAYING @ THE NEXT SAN TRAN!!!!"
The man is the definition of a cult figure.
He looks like Louie Ferigno (body builder in pumping iron and the incredible hulk). And his music sounds like heaven.
I u not, this is a man who has 10+ peoPLe lying around his feet when he PLays.
He has a checkered history...he told every other promoter in Melbourne to off..he would not PLay any where but Dome. (yes a mistake...but this is SOLOS). He was so smashed whike PLaying once he broke one of the turntable arms and so for the rest of the night, every track had to be introduced to the crowd. He has some other colourful stories that I wont go into because they arent fit for public consumption.
His mixing may be a little dodgey sometimes, due to the fact he hardly ever PLays out...but boy o boy does this man have taste. If u only go out to see one local this year...make it SOLOS.

HOw many times do I have to tell ya kants, Greeks made melbourne to what it is today. THE BEST PLACE IN TEH WORLD TO LIVE.

I saw the movie Troy. Greeks were wankers in that movie. My respect for Greeks has declined since seeing that movie. I dunno, i think Italians are better.

Read the Book before making your judgements. The movie made the Greeks look like bastards and the Trojans as good. Which is the reverse to Homer's 'Illiad'. Also in the Illiad, Helen does not fall in lvoe with Paris, she is stolen by him. Please people don't ever believe historical movies! Because they are always bull!
BTW how was Orlando Bloom in the movie. Worst acting I've seen for a while. |

Indeed, and totally wrong for the role, esp. when he used to bow and arrow ala Legolos style :rolleyes:
Can't go wrong with Eric Bana though - once you got passed his accent [which was quite a while] he was the one who shined! A reccuring thing that floated in my mind was the fact that several years ago he was an unknown actor starring in the original Full Frontal series [which was gold] HAHA |
