these days, hand, leg, foot, models all insure their respective body parts for insane amounts of money. My question is, if you were a big time dj would you insure your ears or hands? Maybe even arms or neck?
If so why, if not why not. Also what body parts would you insure more then others if you were a big time dj. Considering you make your lively hood of it. This should be fun. |

well there havent been ne big time djs yet who have tried this, i think its a matter of someone doing it first which would open the door to more bigger djs doing it... however if a dj did that, even if he had good reasons to do so, i believe he'd insure his parts more out of seeking good publicity for himself and great self promotion for himself rather than really worrying about his insured parts |

Health insurance covers injury, yes, but (generally) not loss of income. That's why models (for example) have their legs, say, insured for a million--to ensure that should there be an injury or disfigurement, they won't be suddenly without income.
I'd say it would make sense to insure the hands. I doubt, however, that insurance on the ears would be cost-effective. By the time you're big enough that this would be an issue, you're spinning 4 times a week in environments that are, essentially, geared to create hearing loss. The cost of the insurance would outweigh possible benefits. |

If you're in the professional audio field for your career life, it makes sense and is somewhat common to insure your ears, since if some1 s up and pounds out 140dB from speakers where you work, and you go deaf... you've lost a job..... and so you need insurance.
my answer is yes. |

Why? If you're a DJ and go deaf, you've lost your livelihood. |

I'd insure my ears, arms, and hands. They provide the income. I can sit on a chair and spin, but it still wouldn't be the same as dancing behind the decks.
One of my dad's favorite rock artists has his vocal chords insured for an insane amount of money. |
