Best Restaurants in Montreal?

Hey Montreal TA's, I need your advice.

I live in Toronto, but have been working at my company's Longueuil office for each of the past 8 weeks and living in a hotel. As the hotel rooms have no kitchen, and all of my living expenses are paid for, I've been doing a lot of dining out - every night, in fact. Let's just say that if you've seen a guy eating alone at a nice restaurant lately, it was probably me.

Over the past 8 weeks, I've managed to completely run out of ideas for new places to eat. I've wandered many nights along St-Laurent, St-Denis, Mont-Royal, and Ste-Catherine, without a clue as to which restaurants are really the best.

So that's where you come in - can anyone recommend good places to eat? If you could go anywhere in the city and didn't have to pay for it, where would you go?

Queue de Cheval <-- lovely meat
Baton Rouge <-- lovely baby backribs
Movempick <-- it's good
La Moulerie <-- for mussels

I think u should check out Prince Arthur - they got nice restaurants there - mostly greek, but good food, with good seafood and the area is just really nice...

Look for restaurants in hotels - i dunno any but they usually have good restaurants in good hotels.

Okay, thanks but could you also tell me the locations of these places?

Baton Rouge: Right in front of the Place Des Arts metro station exit on St. Catherine - It's right next to Music World

Queue de Cheval: Right next to Sheraton Hotel on Rene Leveque

Movempick: Place Ville Marie

La Moulerie: Van Horn i believe

u might also wanna check Newtown on Crescent (Upper floor) Pure French cuisine which doesnt satisfy everyone.

Hotels, well, i dunno - u got a lot of choices

for the prince arthur restaurants, it's after the cross of St.Laurent and Prince Arthur - just go inside and u'll c them all....

Amir = good arabic food although there are others which are 1000 better (Abou Elias - fkn DAMN)

Anyway, that's all i can think of right now...

Hi,
depend what you mean by the best retaurants?
If you are talking about the real best restaurants, you should look for these ones:

Cube (Hotel St-Paul) best Montreal restaurant
Le Toqué (Palais des Congrès)

La Queue de Cheval (Over priced steak house, everything taste the same but still ok)
John_H2O
hey hey

restaurant that my way! I study to become a cook :)

Queue de cheval is a really good one, but if you check on st-Laurent we have
Le Blanc (one of the best beef in Montreal Angus AAA), Buena Nuote to see some movie actor.
Au pied de cochon ( 536 Duluth between st-hubert and St-Denis...very good duck) restaurant 737 as the night club (1 place Ville-Marie)
La Chronique, very high level food and flavor but $really$ expensive (Laurier west of St-Laurent)
La Milsa, Bresilian grill, one of my best restaurant to eat meat on grill, very good. Bresilian girls not include in the price :)(Bishop between Ste-cath and maisonneuve)
L'express, the best Bistro Francais in Montreal, nice food and not super expensive but need a resevation. (St-denis/marianne)
Chez Toke, on St-denis and other high level food.

I will stop 'cause i can suggest you 100 different restaurants, these are in the my top 10, but i couldn't try all the goods in montreal ;(

So if you want a very good experience, check it man!
