they won't anytime soon. The american people would rather wage war on congress itself than see another draft take place. |

that is ty. this is kind of a different issue but i am totally anti military. i dont know if that makes me not patriotic or what but i could never fit into the mold that they try to make people in the military. plus i HATE violence and i dont beleive in the war they are fighting. i dont know what i would do if drafted. if we cant go to canada, how about mexico? |
its cool, being non violent doesnt make you unpatriotic. . . .although thats what ppl think thats what it takes to be patriotic. |

thats the spirit guys!! ,...
its not that bad,... hell ive been the military for about a year now and Iraq isnt in my agenda for at least another 8 months,... its just like school but i get paid for it,...
im a very non-violent person and i can handle the military fine, girls dont have to be violent at all, pretty much the hard core guys that want to be infantry need to have that aggression while the rest of us can sit back relax and do paper work, finance, supply or some other BS easy job, i picked field artillery b/c i wanted to shoot guns but also not die (our targets are many many kilometers away),... |

The army does recognize a person's opposition to violence and they can claim for conscientious objector status. However, if that person is merely claiming that status because they're afraid of getting shot at or they would rather not fulfill obligatory duty, they're still not let off the hook. In past drafts (well ww2 at least) those who are opposed to violence could opt to join the medical corp or other such duty whereby the person is not directly involved with taking another's life. |
