The release date for Summer Dream is as follows
Kuffdam & Plant - Summer Dream (Original Mix & Slusnik Luna Remix)
Released on 020 Records late August
Kuffdam & Plant Summer Dream (Orignal Mix, PVD Remix & Slusnik Remix)
Released on Vandit Records early September
So the deal with us is pretty simple....
I am based in Scotland and Plant is based in Cyprus. We have never met face to face on we have only ever spoken on the phone once which was this week actually and it was about the football results.
The way we produce is that Plant or myself have an idea and we write it using Reason, Cubase and a few other bits. We then send it to the other person for them to add ideas or change how the track is building and this really goes on till we are both happy. Once that's done we send the track to the label and they do a final master on it and that's it really.
With tracks like Balearica, we wrote that in a matter of days and I managed to get hold of a few DJ addresses. I sent a copy to PVD and a week later he featured it on his radio show. From there I approached some labels to show the support we had and we were offered 3 different deals. In the end we settled for 020 or Above The Sky as they are also known. Tony Burt the owner has been in contact with me for many years through my DJ'ing etc so I felt I could trust his the most. I liked his vision for what Kuffdam & Plant were aiming to do and the fact he has allowed us to really produce what we are happy with an not sticking us with one style only.
From there we have just continued to work when and how we can but hopefully this year I will get to meet Plant to do a little work in a studio. It would save time and allow us really to work much faster on ideas.
We have a new track up after Summer Dream which I really love. Its much more on the big trancy sounds which just felt right at the time of writing it. Away from that we also have some really nice progressive tracks that are still work in progress so watch this space.
I personally feel really lucky to have met Plant as I had worked on productions myself but just couldn't find that hidden extra spark to make them stand out. Plant had been producing for almost 10 years and again never had anything signed or released but within 2 months of us meeting and working we had Balearica signed and ready to go. Its been a case of a very lucky meeting so I am grateful for that.
I hope this maybe explains a little more about what we do and how...

Ok...here is some of our stuff:
Software (Kuffdam and Plant): Cubase, Reason, Reaktor, Kontakt, Rebirth, V-Station, Bass Station, Atmosphere, Albino, Muon Tau Pro, REFX TBL, REFX Vanguard, Wavelab ...and ....more...
Hardware (Plant): Some midi keyboards and controlers, mixers (Behringer), active monitors (M-Audio - Studiophile).
Other hardware(Plant): JP8080, TB303, TR909, SH101.....but useless for the way we are working....Oh...and a Korg Triton.
we also got.....DSL!!!!! :gsmile: - without it ...nothing could happen!!
Then we got ..our ..heads...and ears...and finally we got...
YOU GUYS!!!!

Mr Plant himself has filled you in on what we are using at this time. I must say that most of the software has only recently been new additions to the setup. When we wrote tracks like Balearica it was pretty much produced using Reason.
When we first spoke with Matt Darey about doing a remix for him he asked where our studio was based lol.... erm.... on my PC was the answer... I think he was a little stunned...

nice one! it's all about duos guys. you two really seem to "work" well "together"... or push the music in a great direction. hope you have more success in your music.
about your productions, i like that they are not just good but at least for the two that i've heard: balearica and summer dream - you guys have a great sound that's coming through... its a pretty unique blend of progressive and trance elements (different from all the other blends of progressive music with trance in a positive way). keep it up!
silly ? for you guys.... in it's current state pvd's version of summer dream from the sensation broadcast sounds like a re-edit/rework more than a remix (new sounds with your basic track/structure)... would you agree? do you think its just because he wanted to play the track out and that when completed it will be a more different sounding remix? or do you think this is the general extent of what he wants to do with it?
i know you might not know, im just wondering because you guys produced this track

you would be able to tell better than us just how much has been done to what you originally produced. |

Well what a decent question to ask...
Yeah I have heard PVD's remix on several different sets from around the world over the last few weeks and for me the remix is continuing to change each time I hear it. Its seems he has stuck to the original structure that we wrote but as far as we are concerned the remix is very much still work in progress. I think he has been playing it out to gage the reaction each time he maybe changes it or adds something.
So as of this moment, we haven't heard a finsihed version and I continue to check his sets that people send me to hear the changes he has added. Now its really just a case of waiting for see what Vandit come back with as a final.
Overall I have to say I am just happy to be working with the label and both myself and Yiannis are excited about what they will come back us with. PVD is very busy with his current summer tour so time is tight for him to really just sit down and work. That's why I just he is trying the track out each time he does something.....
