ok, it may be JUST a poll, but its still a liable statistical measure of public opinion isn't it? In the current case it showed the preferances of people who visit a specific site and what i ve perceived from these results to be is, that no one cares about things like artistry, innovation or similar entities. This is a thing that drives me mad about EDM now and IMO, the main reason of the dawnfall of trance right now. People don't care about hearing quality music, they just want to hear big simple riffs, take their drugs and thats it. But, than you ll tell me that this poll represents a mainstream crowd (maybe a younger one?), which would never really care about the stuff i ve mentioned before(innovation).Maybe actually that was always the case.
But, than again i feel that the quality denominator has never felt so low and while i think that this doesn't affect me in any ways, it actually does, it holds things back for moving on, it kills quality music. People want to hear airbase and that kind of stuff that's fine for them, but actually not for me as the labels will give them what they want in order to grab the money, and you know im a trance fan as well. I like to hear beautifull melodies and atmosphere accompanied with rhythm , that was what got me into trance in the first place. Trance, as any other musical genre, evolves, yes, but now that got so much mainstream exposure and djs have became something like mick-jagger-type rock-stars, evolves so slowwwwllyy. Unfortunately, no-one can do anything about that.
Anyway, this poll has reminded me for one more time of where trance is right now... thats all. I sould never start this thread in the first place you are right. |

Can you provide some pictures and diagrams? Because of my low I.Q. and being a fan of airbase, I cannot understand long sentences and paragraphs. :conf:
