Thoughts on the game?
I actually think it was a very even game, the whole 90 minutes. Porto took their chances better and Monaco had a terrible time from the linesmen, who were intent on killing the game with awful decisions against Monaco. I can remember at least three occasions when a Monaco player burst through with only the keeper to beat and the offside flag went up, before the replay showed he was definitely all along. If it weren't for the pathetic linesmen this could have been a very different (and much more entertaining) game. Losing Giuly was a blow for Monaco as well, before he went off they looked the more threatening side. |

I was rooting for Monaco after Porto's previous antics of using the pitch as a swimming pool. The better team won in the end. Monaco were trying to walk the ball into the net. You just can't expect to take the ball into the penalty area when its so packed. Either cross it in or shoot from afar.
I was quite surprised by Mourinho's absolute lack of emotion at the end. I thought a family memeber had died or something. Weird. |

| Maaan even after its all done I STILL can't believe that Porto and Monaco are the finalists. And it wasn't even that good a game either. |

Well its a good thing it had to happen this year when we still have the Euro to look forward to.
All in all, im happy as long as I watch a good final. Today's was decent. Not like last year's atrocious display. |

I thought the exact same thing.....
I wanted Monaco to win... Dont know what could've happened if the linesmen would've done a better job but whats done is done.... My team is real anyways so i didnt really care that much |

| It was a good game and was glad the Porto didnt sit back after they had scored the first goal. Deco's goal was fantastic |

I thought it was a terrible game, especially first half.
Porto had two lucky goals and one exquisite finish from deco, if it were not for some shocking linesman decisions we may have been toasting monaco, but hey us celtic fans learnt to accept defeat after beig cheated last year, and so should monaco:toothless
I'd still much rather have seen one of the big teams in the final against the underdog.. Thank God we have the euro's to look forward to because that final was the as big an anti-climax as last seasons. |

We play like . Therefore... we win 3-0? :wtf:
Yeah, we played very far from our best, Monaco did a good game, we won it on luck. Giuly coming out at 9 mins was a bonus cause he was causing trouble to defence. But i think what ed up them was Deschamps risking everything by playing with 3 strikers too early, though you gotta admire him for having the balls to do so!
Doesn't matter anymore.. WE WON THE ING CHAMPIONS LEAGUE! :D We may have won the final on luck, but with two competition victories in two years, one cannot say Porto isn't a great team and didn't deserved to be there. This year also proved that what matters to win is the way the players play together and not the amount of superstars you have in a team!
About Mourinho.. well, he's always weird. After the game he almost confessed to the journalist that he was going to Chelsea, said that 'the future will be known in a couple days' and that he was 'willing to leave the club'. I don't think the next year is gonna be very good for Porto anymore, probably loads of players are leaving too.. |
