Here is a Flash of Reality. This just applies for small hick towns in the midwest.
I go to a highschool of maybe 600 ppls, of that 600, maybe 4 or 5 people know about trance, all for or 5 of these people only know it cause they have been influenced by someone from the outside, all of them are my friends, and we are a tight outlandish group.
Today was the first day of school, and I had Cisco networking 7th period. I thought I had a pretty cool Group until these guyz started playing Country Musik, it was banjoing off all the cement walls, and I had no Idea of where to duck, This is one of the only times I got the feeling it would be Okej to Narc on someone, but by then, I was to fed up with my Current Location on map, and I got all caught up in DOS trying to disable this stupid fool proof security , so that I can utilize this T1 Connection, and download, something that would put me in the rEaL World again.
It gets much worse as you go into the other aspects of life here. |

I was just thinking about this topic last night.
This is how it is. When you look at trance in america, you look at all the states and say we are behind in trance/deep house music. What you sould look at is the main states. New York, California and Florida. We are not behind like you think we are. For example, you hear a track like New Order - Crystal for the first time in May and then you have to wait 3 months for it to be out on vinyl. Trance-minded Americans hear the same track and 1 MONTH later its ok on vinyl. I think i like it better this way.
Who cares if there are 600 kids that listen to country and other stuff and only 5 kids know what trance music is. Isnt that the way you want it to be? You dont want our style of music to become trendy and commercial. If you do live in a hick area and you listen to trance, i gotta give it up to you dude cause right off the bat your makin a statement that you are UNIQUE!
People sometimes ask me wha kinda music i like best and ill tell them Deep house/Deep trance. The stuff thats darker then hell and deeper then the soul (Example: Digweed) and those people look at me like i have 6 heads. Fuk them, im not gonna waste minutes of my life to think what these outsiders are thinking of me.
I gotta admit when i blast the car stereo in traffic, i feel bad for all these confused people that are probably like " Wat the fuk is wrong with this kid, wats he listening to" but who cares about them also. Im sure they are into something weird themselves, like collecting stamps or havin a fetish for .
I love this music. I love it to the point where wen someone tells me its music i dont have to defend it cause i dont wanna argue with the person in front me and at then end make them like my music. They're the ignorant ones and the trendy ones and the ones that will be 2 steps behind. Leave them there. |

Dude i totally feel for ya, here in my small spot of hole midwest america or 'hick town usa' there are about 600 peeps as well that go to my school. and a total of about 9.000 peeps in the town and out of all of them... 2 thats right 2! people listen to trance and totally have a feel and understanding for the musik. me heh and plastikE thats it, talk about a tight group of fellow listeners.:sadgreen: i thank plastikE almost everyday for him getting me into this musik. just thought i would throw that in

This is a great example beacause where else can you see this connection. These 2 guys made a connection through music. And trance music does that like the snap of a finger. Look at how many people out there listen to rap music and they go out and kill each other. They kill each other and sometimes their motive for murdering people comes from the lyrics they hear in hip hop songs. Im a very very casual guy. Everyting is neat and i know who to talk to and who to be friends with..But if you sit me with a person thats interested in trance/deep house music i guarentee that i will be talking to that person for hours to come. Whether your black, yellow, purple or a hick..I think what we got goin on here in the states is special in its own way. If you wanna know things about trance..you actually get off your ass and dig for info. Unlike some places its all over tv and other things that can be accessed easily. |
