Ok I really need your help here.

I have a roland E68 keyboard. Now most of you wont know it, but it's one of those keyboard series that most pianist bought one time in there life :) You know it has midi output and all that, but the best part back in the day was that it would play background drums for you, and you could play piano, or sample guitar etc... very basic, but fun.

Now I posted a while back with help to hook the midi stuff to my game-port (that's not a midi entrance, but apparently a game-port which can also allow for midi inpu (it's on my soundcard)). Now I didn't succeed in getting that to work, it simply won't read that the keyboard is hooked up to my PC.

Now for the other stuff, I can input the midi notes by hand obviously, just takes a bit longer. But I want to use some of the sounds in my keyboard on my PC. Do I just hook the audio-out to my line-in port or something ? If someone could tell me that'd be great, so I can go buy the needed wires.

Again it's a very basic audio card, so no midi input except via game-port which I don't seem to understand and get to work :O

Thanks

Seems that people have ignored your thread, while I'm not the most qualified to help, I'll do my best.

In your sequencer, see if you are using the right midi inputs, your port might be misconfigured or broken, but I doubt it. You also could have the ins and outs switched around.

For the sounds, yeah use the line in, you'd need a converter for the small plug to the large plug on your keyboard. But you'd probably be better off buying a sample piano and use that.

Being ignored :(

Ok so I happened to have those big to small jack converters. So yes indeed, I can record the audio now ! Woohooo ! I just can't get the midi to work. But I guess that's useless now since I have to record the audio anyway, unlsess if you can record midi AND audio at the same time. That would be pretty friggin sweet.

I just wish someone who uses his gameport to use midi would reply and help me out here. I have a MuseXL soundcard btw.
