| Is it good music or is it a way for ponzy posh bastards to claim that they listen to underground party music? |

Your more likely to find a funky house tune in a commercial club than you are trance.
It's also easy as to mix:D |

I like funky house. If by funky house you mean stuff like
Junior Jack - Da Hype
Robbie Rivera ft Billy Paul - Sex (Antoine Clamaran Remix).mp3
Daft Punk - Da Funk
etc. |

| I don't like funky house, I like deep, progressive, tribal styles of house. :) |

funky house is probably one of my favorite genres currently. Whats interesting about it is how it maintains consistency while progressing. A funky house song will always have a funky bassline, but artists such as antoine claraman seem to integrate new aspects of tribal and techno melodies. i am very happy to see the progression of funky house.
oh yea...funky house + techno = AMAZINGLY AWESOME! The key to mixing it is extremely fun and it sounds badass. While you drop a funky house track start bringing in the hi hats of a techno song, making sure the bass on that techno song is completely down. continue with beatmatching the two, and once the croassfader is in the middle, u work ur magic. start brining in the mids from the techno song and lower the bass on the funky house track. right now, there should be the two tracks on top of eachother with absolutely no bass. after about 10 seconds, crank up the gain on the techno song and do a major ass bass kick. the crowd will go crazy as they hear a grooving melody on top of a bangin techno track.
if u dont know what i mean, check out what carl cox and donald glaude do :happy2: |

Funky house is tha really.
I've realised that more normal people can cope with Funky House at parties, and most people get their groove on when they hear it, even if it's pop they're after...
There are three cool clubs here that play solely consistent damn good funky house(In one of them I met, Disco, I met Paris Hilton, but that's another story:D).
After partying here for like six months I've realised that funky house reallty really is tha .
Makes it all more fun:D
Try picking up ladies and groove to an ASOT set, nah not going to happen.

| I listen to a bit of funky house every now and again purely because I find it to be really uplifting - it makes me happy. Now what's wrong with that? :D |
