| I'm thinking of something that has harder beats than trance, but is still in the electronic music genre. I was told what it is once. I'm TOTALLY new to this type of music, and I'm looking for some good to listen to while I'm typing a paper for school. What genre? Any good artists? HELP ME OUT HERE!!!!! :conf: |

Hardtrance? Hardcore? Speedcore? Terrorcore? Noisecore? Powernoise? Industrial? Trancecore? Drum and Bass? 2-Step?
Seriously dude, you need to narrow it down a bit. |

I usually listen to Fear Factory and bands like that. What type of genre would most closely match this band, cept with the electronic side to it.
Junkie XL - ever heard of this guy (or girl?)
They did a remix of a song by Fear Factory called Cyberdyne. I like that kinda stuff. |

Junkie XL is a fellow named Tom Holkenborg. There's an accent mark in there I didn't get right. I like the hats he wears.
He is a versatile man, and produces in a variety of styles, like his friend Brian Transeau (BT). I'd call some of his stuff rocktronica or industrial dance in that regard, but he's done clubby stuff, ambient stuff, reggae-ish stuff, just many styles. That's the beauty of the man's music.
Do not worry too much about a genre designation... a general approximation will work, as well as words of your own choosing. Simply speak from the heart and attach adjectives as you feel free to... and in the end, the music is the music. :) |

i think you should listen to whatever you like. Don't be limited by one genre, go out and explore other stuff and see what you like..
We can probably help give you suggestions for Industrial type bands or hard trance or tech trance artists that you may enjoy as well.. |

erm... somehow i doubt industrial is the thing you are looking for. you don't seem to be too certain about your musical preferences. you sound kinda confused about that. anywho, for proper industrial with an "electronic side to it" i would recommend
