i thought i had a wicked exam timetable, and i really did, with a fairly large amount of time between exams to revise!

life changing moments have occured in my life that have detracted me from revision, for which i am glad, but as they have detracted me from my revision, im stuck up at this time, doing my final preperations and hoping that the essays i prepared will either

come up

and that i remember them as well

:nervous: :nervous:

also have to cram various little facts about drugs and how they work, i just hoope they dont throw in the obscure anti cancer drugs, or any sort of drugs to do with parasites :whip: :whip:

and i'm ing wired from the redbull and proplus

oh well its the last exam in 7hrs and 15 mins, and after that, i've got a nice weekend of fun n games planned.

see you on the other sideeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee:eyespop:

Alkylating agents - bi-functional DNA reactive drugs e.g. nitrogen mustards cyclophosphamide and melphalan, and platinum compounds cisplatin and carboplatin - bind DNA causing cross-strand links
Antimetabolites - decrease precursors for DNA synthesis, e.g. 5-Flourouracil, methotrexate
Topoisomerase inhibitors - inhibit DNA replication by binding the "cleavable complex" of topoisomerase preventing the DNA's dissociation form the protein e.g. etoposide, doxorubicin
Incorporation into DNA strand as analogues of normal nucleotides leading to mutation e.g. 5-FU, 6-mercaptopurine
Mitotic spindle poisons - inhibit formation microtubules etc. preventing mitosis e.g. vincristine, taxol

Thus all causing probs for DNA and cell replication, promoting apoptosis and destruction of said cancer cells
Unless you have p53 mutations, Bcl-2 overexpression, then your ed:eyes:

:D cheers for the revision opportunity

yeah MCQs all the way

tho a good essay question discriminates between those who simply have a good memory and those with the ability to apply their knowledge

I hear that.

I think I might take a year out next year. I think that right now, I lack the motivation to do my final year, so I think I'm gonna take a year out to practice what I've learnt and maybe get a job and save up a bit of dollar.

I just cant be arsed right now though.

:)

Revision sucks, doesn't it.

I've got history tomorrow, then that's no more exams for me this year :) and a week off school.
