And while your at it, whats also the best kind of ram to get I don't quite understand what the different kinds are...

How do people not know about computers?!?!

get SDRAM or DDR RAM s

synchronous dynamic ram is fast, double data rate is faster.

get like 512 megs or something.

Basically depends on what you like doing. Athalons are typically more associated with gaming because of floating point geometry, but pentiums kick ass too, cant really go wront with any of em.

Graphics cards, just get something higher than geforce 3. The all in onder cards and radeon 4800+s are great too...

What do you do with your computer? how much power do you need?

For video cards, I ordered the HIS Radeon 9800 Pro "IceQ" 128 MB which is a toally awesome card with an outstanding heatsink which you could overclock...

Video (click)

For memory it depends on what kind you need, for instance PC2700, PC3200, ect (need to find out what your motherboard supports). I use Corsair (XMS Series) which I have not had any problems with, and overclock well. I also buy the Low Latency memory because of there low timings.

Hope this helps! :conf:

If needed, PM me and I'll try and help yah out bro. :)

Yeah but a lot of systems wont be able to use the full capacity of those like the new Radeon X800. The 9800 Pro 128 MB, or the 9800 Pro XT 256 MB are both awesome cards. I could clock mine to XT speeds if I wanted...

Basically, it also all matters on how much you want to spend, but dont get me wrong, 128 MB cars are still very awesome!

Yes but tests so far have shown that the memory increase does not contribute to a significant gain in performance, at least not enough to justify the added cost.

Don't buy a soundard from newegg if you want to produce, I've seen what they offer, and their selection sucks.

First though you gotta tell us what you're going to use it for, otherwise it's pretty pointless giving you advice. We could advise you to spend 20k on a comp you wouldn't need, or 200 bucks on a piece of you wouldn't want.
