Got to stay in a big castle that had been converted to a Youth Hostel, in the middle of nowhere, Scotland. Got the room which is said to be visited by the ghost of a hair stroking nanny...
Nothing happened.
Figure she must have been put off by the Aussie chick who bunkered up with a "boyfriend for the night" in the bunk below.
I don''t know which experience was more disturbing - the one I put up with or the one that didn't happen. Hooray for earplugs...
Have a couple of friends though, who have lived in haunted places - one woke up to the sensation of something "not very nice" hovering inches from his face. He couldn't bring himself to open his eyes.
He met (by coincidence) someone who reported a similar experience - it turned out this guy lived in the place next door.
They think it was the ghost of a dog (on account of something that growled in the room) at another person who was visiting.
My other friend (previously a non believer in "that kind of thing") shifted into a house that had a poltergeist that knocked on doors (in the house) in the small hours of the morning, busted lightbulbs, drove the dog mad, (they'd find her off her chain every time she'd had a barking fit in the night, and she was a pit-bull, so it was unlikely to be kids joking.)
Ghost stories intrigue me. Never experienced one myself though. |

| I notice that when people tell ghost stories they always say my friend or my friend's friend has seen a ghost. I haven't seen one and I don't believe in ghosts. Probably what happens is that people's senses become more sensitive when they expect a ghost so their mind starts playing games with them or they just fall prey to someone's joke. |

There's this old insane asylum out wher ei used to live called Dixmont. That place is freeeeaky as michael jackson. About once a year i'd go out there with a group of friends and sneak in. It's a incredibley scarey place at 2am. You'll hear doors slamming, footsteps, moans, groans, and the occasional walking ghost. I read up no the internet about the place and where all the hotspots are.
I had a couple really scarey thing happen to me that weren't just groans or bumps in the night.
First thing that happened was I was sitting down about 20 feet away from my friends on this step and everyone was just kidda flashing their flash lights around when I just hear this heavy breathing that sounded like it was coming from right ontop my head, hairs on the back of my neck stood up - i bolted upright and no one was behind me. That freaked me th e out.
Second time was we were sitting on these windows in like the second floor at th eend of this long hallway. First we hear a door slam and then we all see 2 shadow figures start walking down the hall for about 15 seconds until they disappeared. One was tall the other was short, and they just walked down the hall together. Just dark shadow figures - you could see right through them. We all got the outta there real quick.
3rd scariest thing that ever happened to me was I went up there with this chick and my friend. We got into about the middle of it when hell broke loose. Now I know that a door slamming doesn't really qualify as a ghost, could just be the wind ya know but not this. All over the entire place you could hear slamming doors and it sounded like something was running down the halls really fast. We got outta there real quick. |

ha, ghost stories are funny. But I dont' believe in any of it since your brain can fool you so easily.
anyways, the closest thing I experienced to a ghost was when I was napping, I woke up and felt someone sitting on my bed, kinda leaning towards me. however I knew the mind plays tricks when you are wakin, so I just opened my eyes and that lil feeling of someone there slowly faded.
funny part is that I was still tired and I fell back asleep, and the samething happened.
another thing is with those scam artist like John Edwards that say they can speak to the dead.....HA, check out this site and tell me its real..

I alos used to visit those closed down asylums, they were freaky, only because they were dark, and at first, we didn't know the people and bums there that scared everyone. it was hilarious when we met them though. aaahhh good times, it was like a year round haunted house.
just realise what reality is, it is a neural signal in the brain, now just imagine how easy it is to fool that neural signal. theres your ghost. |

ummm...back to the topic
i remember about 6-7 years ago in my old house my mom said she was in the bathroom when she swore she heard the front door open...first was the sound of the key sticking into the keyhole, turning it and open and she heard foosteps come into the house...she assumed it was our dad coming back from work...but once she got out no one was there...not my dad or anyone except me
in the same house i was playing in the living room while my mom was cookingsome in the kitchen when we heard a loud knock on the door that was located in the kitchen which lead to our garage...when we opened it it was pitchblack and no one was there
about like ten years ago my family went to reno, and it was about 2 in the morning and i was still awake for some reason when i heard a random knock on our door...now what kind of person for whatever reason would knock on our door at two in the morning...weird |
sounds like u got a case of a crackhead bum that lives around uyr house
anyways i think ill add a lil story...nothing has ever happened to me cept a few times i thought i heard someone call my name from downstairs but nobody was home...but i always hear voices anyways. *me puts down the knife, gives a twitch begins to tell his story*
well my brother howveer had something happen to him when he used to live at home and was sleeping one night in his room which is my room now, he had waken up to the sensation of someone touching his head.. he turned around and saw nothing but a silhouette of a person but couldnt make out because it was bright and white..he stalled for a second not being able to move cause he was freaked but then decided to swing his closest leg at it and kick it...which he did ....and then abruptly it was gone... |
