Anyway, Neo should stay as a mod. He puts in a load of work for these forums and was been doing so long before most people here (including my handsome self) registered.

If anybody's got a problem with the way he mods the only thing you can do about it is gain enough respect in the community so that one day you might get the job yourself and be able to do things your way. And most of the people that have a problem with Neo seem to be little gimps who've only been here 5 minutes and to be honest I'm pretty sure Neo wouldn't even be reading their posts - let alone paying attention to them - if he wasn't a mod.

what the hell does that mean? I am assuming you are including me.

I would much rather prefer you named me out, then we could have our own thread. :P.

leave the talking out of these discussions, they don't include neo.

Being a mod is a thankless job with too many headaches from clowns on the forums. You close a thread, people bitch, you leave it open, people bitch, you warn someone, people bitch, you suspend someone, people bitch. You get nowhere, I understand that mods are not the greatest people sometimes, we are humans just like everyone, just we are entrusted to help keep the forums running smoothly and maybe we have let things get ty. Post all your damn complaints about ta, if you want to make it better in the suggestion forum or PM swamper. I'll even go as far to saying, if I'm the reason why TA has hit the ter, I'll either reform or quit. It's not fair to have the forums becoming because of 3% of people and the 97% suffering.

Who the said it was a showdown, I don't care what whiskers thinks of me, I said my piece and he said his, end of story. The bigger and more important question is how can we make ta better and a house cleaning may have to occur but if it makes the site better, who cares.

i never bitched with the ta mods they bitched with me
Lira
Neo, here are the lyrics of a tune I used to listen during my childhood, and that expresses what I feel now:

Please don't go...
Please don't go...
don't go~ don't go away...

Baby, I love you so...
and I wanted you to know...
that I... I need your love...
in the minute, you walk out that door...
Please don't go~~~~~~~~!!!!

so you are not including me in his gang of spastics?

why don't you get a list of the name of all these spastics, then gather up some evidence that they actively contribute to the retardedness on the site....then ban or suspend them.

and don't be afraid to look no further than your own irc chan ;)

i been here since the beginning, only recently i've changed my SN, so i think i still have a tranceaddict in training avatar. anyways...

Having been first introduced to electronic music by the Chemical Brothers, a search engine led me to a site called HomeofMusic.com, headed by DJ RRebel. He would release tracks to everyone on his own bandwidth so we could listen to the newest and best trance tracks. I'd never been into forums, but one day i decided to check it out. This was the first time i actually portrayed myself in an online environment, the forums. I lurked around, signed up, and eventually started giving my share of tunes and opinions on their boards.
Anyways, cost problems shut downt the website and i had no more connections with trance except going to napster and putting in "trance", only to find tracks like Titanic Trance theme or whatever.
I found TA a few months later. I really enjoyed the website and once again, discovered the forums.
Back then, the forums were absolutely great. I signed up and was welcomed by everybody. Does anyone remember all the threads in Chillout that said "we have a new member" and we actually welcomed this person on to the forum, without the person having even announcing it themselves.
Back then, the only problems we had were visible post counts in the avatar and eventually too many "top 10 songs of the week" threads. Anyways, we all patched things up and set up the foundation of TA for today, from avatars, new boards, file attachments, etc.
"all was good"
If anyone ever had a problem, absolutely no one would insult them, rather we'd try to control the situation, even without the mod having logged on to check the status of the boards. everyones opinions were respected, and we'd debate in the most calm of ways. If anything got too extreme, mods would be notified and warning would be given out, and they'd oblige. if they didn't, they were kicked and things settled down.
hehe, so many starf0x threads too.

and then....
as time went on, things started changing, primarily in the Chillout room. threads would pop up that would have a bit of an extreme edge to it, things that asked for "honest" opinions. Extreme questions such as the opinions on those that follow Gothics or questions about politics and sexuality. Time went on and the wordings in these threads would start going to extremes. Absolutism mostly. And certain people would get offended. More extreme and more extreme, and people would protect/bash opinions that were very sided, such as abortion or the politics of today. One person would flame a topic, another person would flame back, and the members actually joined the flame wars to protect their side of the story.
Then came the silly threads. A joke at first, but this is when it became more common to call people idiots, and people would take it the wrong way, get angry, create a thread about their annoyance with other members, and eventually, flame war.
This started bringing out more activity for the admins. No longer could we post a topic and get responses, but people actually posted a topic, and the thread would have to get deleted immediately, because if a mod didn't delete it, it would result in a flame war. and this is what is happening now.
I think the mods have been very fair in ever way. Because of the way the community now is, we have to be protected from topics that GAURANTEE a flame war or offensive subjects. If you don't like it, you can go to the mtv.com dance music forums. A lot of the mods were picked up by their leadership behavior as members, and eventually were asked to mod the boards. Give them respect. If you got beef with them, send a PM. Don't spread hate throughout the forums just to gain attention for your cause to have an open discussion on offensive topics.
well, i guess tha's my observation.
btw, there seem to be a lot of members who feel above the law. There are threads about the discussion of an artist, and someone comes into the thread to bash the artist, without actually putting any insight to the original thread.
"can anyone tell me the name of the track by X?"
"X sucks"
someone asks a polite question, only to get an 'answer' that does not help; someone gets offended and the thread goes down in flames, locked, and then hate mail goes to the mod that closed it.
c'mon, we used to be better than this. fix the community

Ian^
Simon, You know each & Every member of UKTA respects the job you do, the hours you put into this site, the effort involved carrying mods who don't shut threads when asked (like art etc) and we need you in this place, it's being taken over too much by losers who try & kill every single fad ever such as +1 NB4DALOCK the random pics like smokeapes and lots more, this forum needs to be taken back by people who used to frequent it, who could have good discussions without idiots getting involved and causing BS

moral of the story, TA will not be the same without Neo and i dont care how many people have to be banned or pissed off to get him back, he's a legend and should be appreciated
