Greece hailing djs "Andrew K" and the young female "Helen K", have joined the Eccentricbeats.com monthly line up shows. Every second and last Monday of each month (Start Time: 6 pm UK, 1 pm EST & 8 pm GREECE) you will be able to enjoy the most powerful-spacey-deep-dark-sexy-progressive-tribal dj sets at their Eccentricbeats.com radio show "SPACE RIDE".
Evolving beats in the most unique way; starting up from progressive house and deep trance with Andy and the experience continues through twisted house/sexy tribal while Helen takes the 1210s. Delivering the complete dark astonishing experience; it's all about the groove.
ANDREW K
From the first years of his life, he expresses his love to the music by taking up piano and theory lessons. Collecting records was one of his first hobbies; therefore it was a matter of time to show his interest in mixing and djing. To take things to the next level, he takes up composing and producing his own tracks that leads him to sign with Underground Lessons Recordings, which helped him enter a new phase in his dj carreer.
In addition, in December 2002, he joins the dj/producer Dj Leoni in his weekly radio show, while he also appears as guest to many other local and internet radio shows. In Summer 2003 Andrew K makes it into the top 10 rank for new talented djs, after winning in a competition run by globaldjbroadcast.com. His set is selected through lots of other entries from all over the world.
Although he was not selected as number 1, his mix made a very big impression, and the man behind the contest, well known dj and producer Markus Schulz said for Andrew : "G.Pal has some company in representing Greece. This set was chalk full of energy. Nice mixes and a solid tracklisting to boot!"
Teaming up with Simon Oates from the UK, results in the production of three original tracks, which are released by UL Recs as the "Inception EP". In the meanwhile he is appearing next to big-name djs from labels such is Plastic Fantastic, Cream (Luis Paris) and Bedrock.
Pure Substance Management signs Andrew K, in order to promote his work and bookings in the continent of Asia. After the forming of Pure Substance Records, his track in cooperation with Simuck, is remixed by Flash Brothers and makes the debut release of the label. Another track of his project Junk Science is selected by Markus Schulz for his mixed cd and vinyl released with Armin van Buuren's label, Armada.
Andrew now works as A&R for Pure Substance Records, along with djing and producing.
HELEN K
Helen K was born March 17th 1987 and originally hails from west Athens/Megara in Greece. She seemed to have a passion for music and creation since a very young age. Mostly influenced by her always respected teacher & guider DJ Muscle K and with his adorable help, she found her main way on the evolvings of Twisted Tribal and Progressive House music.
Some of the labels that you'll mostly find inside her record box are Low Pressings, Twisted, Star 69, Harlem, Choo Choo, Alternative Route, Stereo Productions and Distraekt. Moreover, her favorite DJs and producers are Steve Lawler, Danny Tenaglia, Thomas Penton, Victor Calderone, Trendroid, D Ramirez, Piliavin & Zimbardo, Satoshi Tomiie and Lexicon Avenue.
The year 2002, while she was involved with music, press and design a lot, she created the Plus Designs project. Later the same year, she became Release Editor Manager of the famous dance music portal e-djs.gr which she left a year after.
May 10th 2003, Andrew K invited Helen at his radio show on City International FM 106.1 (Thessaloniki city) for a guest DJ set. In August 2003, she develops her first radio advertisement production. DJ Muscle K, requests her to fully organize his radio show advertisement and "Dance nation" acapella jingles.
September 2003 and Helen becomes Content Director at the Global Vibe Network/TheCityVibe.com website; as a partner of the Webmedia group, she manages the content of the news page by writing articles/presentations and reviews. Nowadays she has undertook the management of the whole City Vibe section as a Music Editor.
Her later radio guesting mixed dj sets were performed on 94 radio: January 23rd & March 12th 2004, Helen K mixing set at DJ Muscle K - Dance Nation/TheCitySessions (from 23:30-00:00).
