Supposedly MTV2 is the channel to watch if you want to listen to music, but I don't know if that's true! And I guess that channel will eventually be swamped with reality programming and there will need to be an MTVIII...

Dire Straits indeed.

My main problem is, if I wanna see music videos, I have to wait through all the ones I dislike until I get to something I do like. After doing some math, I have deemed this the "1/20 Rule". So I usually view the videos online instead. I'm impatient, but it's ironic, because you'd think MTV-style editing with quick jump cuts and all would speed everything up!

Apparently, no . . . ?

mtv uk went severly down hill when they changed from mtv europe to uk... i remember when they used have mtv partyzone on at 2am on a friday night, and it was sick, no commercialism at all, used to play a lot of techno and x-mix stuff ken ishii and the likes... why oh why cant they bring it back, when theres more than enough of a scene and request for it ?

Ken Ishii; that's a name I'd like to hear more often.
