Subs (for the car)

I just recently put in a new system in my car. Got a nice Sony deck and some infinity speakers for the front and back. Those infinity speakers are amazing, razor sharp highs, cutting mids, and full sounding bass...excellent for electronic music. THe only thing I'm missing is the big sounding bass of a subwoofer. Anybody know much about subs and have any recommendations? I realize I'm gonna need an amp and as far as speaker goes I think I'd like a 1 X 12, nothing more than that I think is necessary.
Any suggestions or info? Any suggestion on price range vs quality?
One other thing I was wondering is what is the likelyhood that the sub will cause too much "buzzing" or rattling? I don't get anything like that with my current set up, but if I add a sub, will I automatically get more buzzing or will it only depend on the how loud I put the sub? I can't stand those people that drive around with farts eminating from their car, I don't want to be one of them.:D :) |

Believe me when i tell you i went through countless subs. I dont want to jinx myself so im just gonna say, bang for your buck and quality, look at JL subs. Anything W3 and above. You'll be surprised the punch you get for under $300.
Your from hamilton so go and check out Gain on Rymal(hwy 56) and Nebo.
Whatever you do, do not go to East Hamilton Radio. They will try to sell you the they make thier biggest return on.
Clairon has very crisp sounding mp3 player.
As for the rattling, that all depends how much loose you have around your car. I had to remove some stuff from my trunk etc and put rubber between liscence plate and light covers. |
