wow. Care to explain?

I mean I can't take pennicilin without ending up taking a trip on the magic bus.

But thats another story. :D :D

Is it like an allergy or something? Or did you have a panic attack(elevated heartbeat,
sense of confusion, anxiety)?
This may be an inappropriate place to discuss this (if so dont bother responding). Go to bluelight.nu if you'd like more info.

Sat. we will see how smoking goes in a club (on to the big bop for darkrave).

Hey folks:

Has anyone stopped for just a second to remember that some of the world's biggest club cities have been smoke free for years - and the earth didn't stop.

Just head down to New York City, or San Francisco, or London. They've been living with a smoking ban for years and the clubs are still packed. People aren't smoking inside. And you can actually enjoy a night out without having to change your clothes in the hall because they smell so bad from the second hand smoke you can't sleep with them in your room.

Every city that has had a smoking ban has had to go through the same doom and gloom scenarios that everyone on this post have presented. None of them actually happened. People adapted. Club life survived. (a study in NYC actually found that club revenues increased after the ban as people who didn't like the smoke now chose to go out more often - eat that!)

Look outside your small little worlds people, and you will see that others have somehow coped with this major injustice - and those of us who don't smoke (about 80% of the population BTW) have actually supported the whole movement.) (Err.. that was bitchier than I meant... but I'll stand behind it now cuz I'm too lazy to rewrite it. :-))

On a more positive front, I'm told that smokers actually like going outside to smoke a lot of the time, because it gives them an excuse to talk to that hot person they were looking at about - you guessed it - the smoking ban. Next thing ya know, you're gettign laid.

go read the other thread where it talks about ireland. That ought to blow smoke in your theory

hehehe
chrismack
Well Jay, as you would probably know if you spent any time at all following the "real" news, Ireland imposed a similar smoking ban just a couple weeks ago.

Although there has been a fair bit of mainstream press, including a piece on 60 Minutes about how well Ireland is dealing with the ban, considering the historical pub culture there, I am sure there are s on the Ireland who - like you - seem content to disturb when they only understand half the story, and attempt to impose their personal ideals as truth.

Maybe you should joing the Flat Earth Society and lobby for
a return to the days when the earth was the centre of the universe. It's possibly as relevant as the crap you're spewing on here.

Go read the article in the other thread and the first hand account from ireland. I dont think the Associated Press lies.

Then come back and comment....

Again with the cry wolf? *sigh*

There simply hasn't been enough time passed to make an informed judgement as to whether smoking will do damage to clubs/bars/pubs yet IN OUR AREA.

Siting information even only a season in length isn't going to be long enough as the summer season simply isn't the same arguement as the winter season because of being able to go outdoors to have the cancer stick...

In the meantime, just enjoy the non-toxic air and let things sort themselves out.

While all of you are stuck to your keyboards arguing semantics and hypotheticals, I'll be out with the rest of the TA crew enjoying myself.....bOOya!

:tongue3
Jayx1
Yes thats because OUR AREA is somehow different than everywhere else.

Contrary to popular belief... Toronto is NOT the centre of the universe ;)

chrismack
Lat night I had the pleasure of hitting two bars. Both of which were packed. Both of which did not have one person smoking.
Jayx1
Yes, so far so good... lets hope it sticks especially in the winter.

We should also fight efforts to have smoking rooms banned... thats just over the top.
