i think you guys are going a bit over the top as to why people don't like hard style.
i do not speak for everyone on this boad, in fact i only speak for me.. but i certainly hope people dont actually hate something because of its image.. i mean if they truly liked something and then turned their back on it based on the image well then whats the point of having passion in the first place?
ill tell you why i hate hard style? because i think its about as useless as on a bull. |

| I saw Nik Fish and Amber Savage go versus for six hours last year. It was ok in parts but six hours is a long ing time. |

Im with Dave on this.... i doubt the majority of people on this forum are that worried about the way people percieve a genre as opposed to the actual quality of the music!!
Personally, i cant stand hard anything - ive progressed past the point in my clubbing career where i need 130bpm to enjoy the music.... |

Or is it true that the eastern states are soft and care way too much about what people think when they go out? |
Disagree entirely.
Over here in Sydney the hardcore/industrial following is mainly goths and stuff like that. These people definitely aren't trance fans, which explains where there isn't anyone here defending hardstyle :)
I'm not a fan of hardstyle either, once when Bexta was playing I could actually feel my eardrums moving in the ear canal :nervous: |

I wasn't making a point about people's appearances, that was just a bit of a fish....
:toothless
I was mainly asking to what extent hardcore/hardstyle/hard trance is played in the eastern states. I was saying that it seems that its slim to none? |

Yeah I figured it was :p
That's kinda what I was getting at, there is a lot of hardcore/hardstyle/industrial etc, but the scene is dominated by goths and alternative types, who don't tend to frequent TA :)
There is a scene, but to the extent of my knowledge none of us are involved in it. |

ummm we have 2/3 quality nights dedicated to the hard trance sound on a friday night alone... where do you think your bass station originated from? i dunno, maybe you are a little ill informed but please dont heap melbourne into your neat little pile of "eastern states".
just curious, what do you think the melbourne scene predominantly consists of petek? |

I know where bass station is from, i'm saying that is nothing over here in Adelaide, they don't exist here anymore cept for maybe 1 or 2 special events a year.
When i was saying eastern states, I was talking about all of them, hoping to get a response from someone in each state.
I dont know what the melb scene consists of? muzzas doing speedrolls? :toothless
I'm not having a dig at anyones scene/nightlife/musical tastes, was just asking to what extend harder genres are present, I'm trying to guage a response from the people that are involved in the scenes...
cheers to webmeister for the response i was after in response to sydney... |

Though I didn't mention hard trance, which is probably the second biggest genre in Sydney (behind breaks of course). Sublime @ Home every Friday night draws about 2000 people, probably another 500 or so at Plastic, and Progress at Gas on Saturdays is always packed to the rafters, probably another 1000 people.
Then of course there's events like Transmission which is held every 3 months in the State Sports Centre, probably 5000 people would go to those. Usually headlined by someone like Dumonde, Scot Project, DJ Wag etc.... |

In Melbourne atleast, the Hardstyle following is fairly large.. with events like pharmacy and such there are quite a few warehouse style events, I know cause I try and go to all of them.
But the following certainly isn't limited to goths and alike.. I've seen a few around but they are hard to find. But from my understanding Sydney is very different so I don't think you can put the Melbourne culture and the Sydney culture into the same basket. |
