I just read on Beatport's Trance forum that they have signed Armada which includes the following labels:

ASOT
Captivating Sounds
Soundpiercing
Armind
Bandung
Club Elite
Electronic Elements

And they stated the music should be arriving soon.

So in the near future you're going to be able to purchase and download .mp3, .AAC or purchase and have .WAV files FedEx to you of your favorite Armada tunes. This is awesome news.

Thanks for sharing the news.

Oh boy is BeatPort shaping up, it looks better each month with interface redesigns and whatnot!

I REALLY LIKE their way of being able to sample the music... it's REALLY convenient, a good use of Flash instead of having to launch an ext. player. Especially a lot of tracks that are named on here, it's easy to go check 'em out..

NICE.

hope they continue expanding

Beatport is great! I've been buying trance releases since last week. I wish they add even more labels to it soon. I don't understand why all artists/labels do not take advantage of it. What a great way to spread your music to the masses and make some money at the same time.

The only small issue I have with Beatport is the MP3 tag ids = there are none. Not only that but when you download a file it only contains the track name, not even artist's name. It is a pain to go back and rename 30 tracks by hand based on what the site has listed.

It is nice that no external player is launched to preview tracks but I would prefer the option of either RA, MP3 or the built-in player with different quality settings.

Looks like this site is growing well - I am just waiting for the day they have downloadable WAV files, but since I am in the USA, shipping can't be all that bad.

Me too.

They state on their FAQ Forum that they are working on it -- no set date yet -- hopefully soon.

Yeah... if they're going to do WAV files... they should look into some form of lossless compression... that way, the files will take less bandwidth when downloaded but you can expand them up to the full size after this. Apple has a new Lossless encoder which supposedly saves 50%, which is awesome for lossless even if that figure might be too liberal.

damn! i really wish they'd get their shipping stuff sorted out, because they said it would cost me about 40$ to ship me a cd and i won't be paying for any downloads for sure!

i should also make sure that the finnish law allows me to burn the tunes on cdr and play them out like a normal cd, because i think there might be a problem with that! at least it was like that before! if a dj wanted to rip his vinyl and burn it to cd and play the cd although he had the vinyl with him he would have to pay some gay fee to the finnish equivalent of RIAA or something! which is totally wrong IMO! but beatport surely looks the shaping well as someone stated. i don't like the site design too much though, freezes my computer for some reason because of the god damn flash!:(
