well, today I received a bitchy note in my mailbox from my neighbors saying that they don't like the "thump, thump, thump" of my music when I practice. how do you all practice if you live in an apartment with neighbors next to you? :conf: this fking sucks, cuz I hate it when the people below me bump hiphop all night, so I sympathize with whoever wrote the note.....any advice/help??

if you have one: get rid of the subwoofer :)

all I have are two panasonic bookshelf speakers.....they got some bump to them, and the walls are thin around here....are there a lot of "soundproof" apartments out there, and are they really expensive??

are the people complaining the ones turning up the hip hop? cause if they are just tell them you're not gonna change unless they do.. well thats what i would do anyway....

Stop playing loud

Get your girl (or a girl) over and ride her HARD- make as much noise as possible- get her to scream the place down at 3am. Make the bed bounce on the floor and the headboard smack against the wall.

Bet they dont complain about the music after that ;)

not much you can do bro, best thing would probly just be to turn it down lol, or just keep doing it nothing can really happen till they call the cops on you once, iv been complained about 5 times (4 of them were from the building acrose the street) and i havent had shti done to me yet lol

I'm pretty familiar with this situation. All I can say is do it while the sun is still up so they can't really complain about not being able to sleep. At night, do it at a respectable volume. Don't go cranking up the volume till their walls shake during the afternoon though... apparently neighbors don't like it. Trust me, I know :happy2:

Why not try soundproofing google soundproofing. LINK

turn down the bass, and dont practise at night at a volume thats loud enough to be heard

u dont wanna move, put reasonably thick foam on your walls, or carpet, or any material is better then none.

my mate put foam on every wall of his bedroom to stop his parents bitching, works amazingly well!
