They do. Its just the power requirement for new processors doubles every couple of years so to the end user the up time remains constant. |

The battery manufacture is really not the problem. You have to realize that todays PC's with GHz up to 3.4 use a lot of power. A regular desktop PC normally use a 300W to 500W power supply. Now you take a laptop that still demands a lot of power and try to give it that in a little battery, well a couple of hours is all your going to get with that kind of power comsumption. Especially in high end notebooks. I have a ALIENWARE 3.2Ghz and I can't even get an hour if I am doing anything that puts a load on the rig or playing a game. Best thing to do is keep your laptop plugged in and only use the battery when absolutely necessary. Unfortunately there probably won't be a solution any time soon as PC's are getting faster and faster. They demand more cooling which in turn uses more power or battery life. Just sharing a little knowledge for those who give a !!!

Not so true!! You just don't know where to shop for batteries.

Something like that actually exists I think :stongue:
Hand crank power thing you plug into the lappy to charge the batt.
Or maybe I'm confused with a cell phone hand crank charger etc. |
