music theory...for newbies
View this Thread in Original format

Hi there

I'm looking for tutorials or something about music theory or composing music explained for newbies, how to start writing melodies (I don't care if its very basic things, I'd appreciate anything!) and stuff.

I also remember seeing some threads here about this issue but I've not been able fo find them again.

What about a sticky topic with all this stuff? Wouldn't be great?

rather than getting into the politics of it all and trying to be a smart arse

wouldnt a more welcoming 'Here is where you should be looking in future check the stickied topics' be a better approach?

Rather than the response you gave which made you look an even bigger retard than the one that started the topic?

Anywhoo, case solved.

Check out music theory, some good stuff on there which will help. And Welcome To TranceAddict :)

he said that it should be a sticky with thing's like that.. AND THERE IS A THREAD LIKE THAT... that's why i posted that... so go out and get glasses... or if you already have.. get some stronger one's.. or maybe learn to read before you start calling me a retard

caus that would be the first thing you checked when you came here.. wouldn't it????

paranoik0: the READ HERE BEFORE YOU POST thread have a link to http://musictheory.net/
so yes.. it does "say" something about music theory ;)
the link's you posted are probably nice thou... will check them out later.... and if i could still edit the RHBYP thread, i would have added them.. but i can't and no one seems to fix that.. well well..

i dunno...i think dbl is right on.

For crying out loud...why would I have spent the last 10 years taking classical piano lessons and Royal Conservatory Music Theory if I could glean "the Basics" in a couple of links on the 'net.

GIMME A BREAK.:tongue2
