I cant beleive that they are charging $1200.00 for this when you can buy Rane/Serato Scratch for $530.00.

hehe that's even more expensive than finalscratch :')

i think it goes hand in hand with everything else in life, you pay for what u get. I havnt used anything like that, to tell the difference.

But i dont see it any different from just different brands, different mixers, different cd players, or anything else in life. A corvette goes for 50k, and a Ferarri goes for 300k. Its probably just a matter of opinion for a lot of people. Im sure if 1 does better then the other. The other will surely drop in price.

$1200 is still cheaper then 2 cdj 1000's even 800's for that matter.

True, but the production cost of a CDJ is probably about 10 times the production cost of a digiscratch packet.

Dunno, it's just too goddamn expensive :)

becasue FS is a peace of software (and hardware) wise.

The hardware has problems, but whats wrong with Traktor FS 1.5.x?

1000$ sounds like a lot, but that box looks pretty professional compared to the Serato and FS boxs.

If Final Scratch is good enough for the "professional" DJs like Paul Van Dyk, then its good enough for any DJ.

The hardware is crap too, PvD uses strictly AIFF, but if you want to spin normal vinyl through it, it picks up alot of noise, even with all the grounding issues solved. The hardware is just not that great.

yup.. i can hear activity on my usb hub when i use finalscratch on my desktop... when i start moving my usb mouse i get crazy static...

no static on a powerbook though...

Applications like Final Scratch are fairly new.

But with CD Players: more manufacturers, more models, more sales, more experience, more competition, more mature products, etc.

Final Scratch 1.1 straight up didnt work on my "compatible" laptop. Neither did 1.0. 1.5 did but it was impossible to spin on because of 1+ second cutouts, along with horrible sound quality. 1.1 did work on my tower, and very well, but it was worthless because I had to tote my tower everywhere. Support for it was ridiculous, it was so bad that they developed a forum soley because there were no responses from the company concerning problem inquiries. Seriously, if anyone doubts that FS wasn't a piece, PM me and I'll give you my story along with countless others. Don't get me wrong, I still love the idea, and think its revolutionary, but get it right stanton. You had a few tries.
