The most intense jobs ever!

I spotted an ambulance flying down the freeway with the sirens on today and started following it. A few other guys had the same idea but dropped off his tail after he went past 140. Dammit, what a rush - with the sirens and all! Other cars were slowing down and that made 160 seem like 260! So i was sitting here and thinking that while working for the man isn't exactly the way to get rich, it's certainly the way to go if you're looking to live life on the edge. Think about it, how cool would it be to drive an ambulance or a fire truck for a living? Or be a member of a SWAT team? Or a CIA operative? Sometimes i sit down and wonder if that's what i should have done instead of going after the money. I would have probably went for the CIA if i were in the USA actually, but seeing as their Canadian counterparts are a ing joke, that idea died quickly.

I wouldn't have minded being a cop, and sometimes I think I should have. I might end up doing volunteer fire fighting at some point in my life though.

Damn, i think i'll try that too sometime! Being a sniper would be awesome too, too bad that in real life they get to shoot like one person every decade, making it pretty much the most boring job ever

Yes, because no one here ever does anything illegal  Not to mention I kept enough distance between us for me to stop without pancaking myself into his rear end even if he suddenly slammed the brakes. I'm not suicidal :)

Two police cars went flying past me one day. Figuring that they had more imporant things to do than bust speeders if they were going that fast, I pulled out behind them (leaving quite a distance though, so they wouldn't notice too much), and got a good speed going. Then, one of them pulls over to the side of the road. Oh , time to get back down to the speed limit. But, after I pass him, he doesn't pull me over, so I'm not worried any more. Then, he flies by me again... so, I get back up to speed. Few Km's later, he's pulled over again. Then I decided to just screw it, because the cop must have been playing games with me.

Wow... what a waste of a post that was :D

police/ambulance can be fun sometimes, but its stressful as hell, not all fun and games at all

Working for CIA is primarity office work...it's not like youre going to be a spy...or an operative...You need to have an insane security clearance, and pass so many other tests...it's hardly as intense as you actually think it is...movies glorify and simplify it too much.

Same with being a cop...it's not like youre chasing bad guys 24/7, a lot of it is office and paper work and again not as intense as you might think...especially in Toronto :) I can hardly think of a real intense job like that anyway...

If you want something REALLY INTENSE go be one of those ppl that work on the floor of the NYSE -- that's INTENSE

*EDIT*
Same with fires and firefighters...I mean how many real fires are there out there...most of the days work is driving around chasing false alarms...buh

^ Thats why I'll keep my (unintense) day job, but may also work as a volunteer firefighter. That, and if I do that, it means I'll be in a small town (and therefore less business for my day job), so the extra cash will be nice.

most intense job ever - Jack Bauer's.

whatcha gonna do if your the ambulance driver and your patient dies on you......emotional stress these people deal with day in and day out is ridiculous.....

Hats off to our cities emergency workers.
