| There is actually a new law that was proposed in montreal and is awaiting aprobation right now that would make ladies night illegal in montreal. The SAQ has sent a copy of this new law to all club owners it's like a 12 page document but to cut it short all free alcool will be abolished, free drink will be illigal aether for ladies ngiths or promotors promo bottles as they will consider it as an " incitation a la consomation" that's like sort of forcing a person to drink or something like that my english isen t good inuf to translate that better. But anyway if that new law passes there will be no more ladies nights, no more open bar nights, and on top of that you will not be allowed to have drink specials on special occasions like cheapie tuesdays at Loft will be illegal cos you will have to maintain a stable price on alcool all year long on every day your establishment is open. This is an attempt of the goverment to close alot of bars that rely on cheap or free alcool to attract a large crowd. It is already illegal to announce free alcool on fliers and now it will be illegal to actually give it away. |
