EQ diferences while burning a CD

Hi, I resently burned a cd of my tracks, wich I transformed to wav first and then burned them. If you hear the wav tracks in the comp they sound fine, but when you put the cd in and listen the EQ is messed up its like someone whent and put all the high frequencies higher, even my mp3īs of my songs sound better than the CD. Any suggestions in overcoming this problem?

Burning to CD shouldn't change the sound AT ALL, unless your .wav files were recorded at a different sample rate then 44.1k 16bit stereo in which case they would have to be upsampled or downsampled which WOULD effect the CD sound.

Sampling differences will cause the track to be played back faster/slower, depending on what it starts off at and what it goes to...it won't cause EQ changes.

Sometimes CD burning programs will include equalizers to "optimize" your music and such, I suggest looking for an option like that and turning it off. If you can't find it, try another program and see if you get the same results.

well I did the burn in 2 different computers with roxio in one and creative playcenter in the other, and it got changed, it didnīt become faster though just the EQ thing... I converted via Fl studio all my tracks to wav would it be that because of the Asio drivers are at 4800 that it got fd up in the burning proces?

It is more than likely that your sound card, amp and monitor set up is not giving you a true representation of what your tunes actually sound like. For example, I use to have the exact same problem with my SBLive which caused me to eventually upgrade it to an Echo Mia. What gear are you using with your daw ?

I have a audigy plat.. could it be that? remember I did the burn in a onther comp too... and this is the first time it hapens, I have burned some of the tracks before and I didnīt notice the sound diference.... I think it could be the burning softwares "eq settings" but heck who knows, and right now I dont have the $$$ to buy new hardware

Looks like you will need to put your final mix through a mastering eq and do a little guees work. Try rolling off the treble around 14-16khz (using a high shelf not a notch filter) until you can hear it getting duller then take it back a little so it sounds the same as the orignal. Then try burning that ... hopefully that will sort your cd burn :)

While your at it try rolling of everything below 20-30hz. Believe it or not that will make your track sound even more lively with more bottom end. Nobody can hear at best below 50hz and your amp can overwork itself by generating freqs between 0 and 20hz that your speakers cannot recreate. So take it away and give your amp a break :)
