Do you purely use your own synth patches in your productions or....?

| Just wondering what the producers on this forum use. Ie. do you purely use your own creations, do you mainly use your own with a few adapted presets, mainly adapted presets or purely presets. Just interested, that's all:) Personally I try to use as many of my own patches as possible, with the intention to be using solely my own once I get into it. |

I've always had an issue with presets.. like.. I hate the thought of someone listerning to one of my tracks and thinking, i've got that pre-set.. kind'a like the Big Brother theam song in australia.. i'm sure that main lead is done with the initial patch that opens up with the pro-53...
if i hear a patch that i like, i study it, figure out how it's made, open a blank patch and recreate it and tune it to fit into my track..
ie; all these tips on making a supersaw in reason.. i've downloaded the rns files ppl have offered, studied them all and made something thats a bit different then them all but still gives me the result that i'm after :D |

Never a preset,the only time i use an original sound is with the piano/strings,and even then i FX the hell out of them so that they sound unique to my track.
For me personally creating my own sounds is very important,its just as important as the track itself.It's probably my favourite thing about producing edm,the fact that i not only write,produce and compose the music,but i can actually create the instruments to play that music.
But hey,thats just me. |

| If I happen to stumble upon a preset that just fits PERFECTLY into what I'm doing, I'll use it. It's generally for harmonic/background synths, rather than leads, though. Crafting the lead is too important to me... |

Mainly my own.. but if i found a preset that's soo good.. and it's the right tune for my song then.. i'll use it.. then apply some FX..

| Im still learning so i use more on preset but at the same time i explore more to learn how to do mine. Learn each day each time give me experience. :) |

| Default present give me the basic sound and then I just tweak and effect it to perfect one ;) |

| i occasionally use presets as a base setup for what i want my synth to sound like, but other than that, it's all about tweaking your own synths |

| I usually listen to presets to find ones that I like and then I start tweaking these presets to my taste (or sometimes just use it without any tweaking :)) and applying effects to them :) |
