This was just sent to me by a friend of mine.

I dont mean to be a pessimist, but all the petitions i have signed, have never worked. Just because the government sees a ton of signatures where they signed to opppose government action doesnt change the minds of the government. They have the power, we elect them, and unfortunately, the public cant influence the government through petitions. So its kind of a waste of time.

I support the rave act, it'll get these damn druggies off the street.
*off to dj a rave...but for really though, I am...
and watch out, the politicians in nevada are trying to get it so that they can collect personal data on people who sign petitions, so soon you will have to write your name, address and everything down to sign one of these......
so maybe there are larger battles to be fought than this one. |

| Ummm that petition is from 2002. Out of curiosity, has anybody actually noticed a decrease in raves since the rave act passed? Or is this simply empty petitioning? |

I've been told here in Chicago (though i do not know from personal experience) the penalties for promoting a rave has become so high that most promoters just cant risk it and the rave scene has gone way down. But i would like someone to confirm that.;) |
