Well the conservatives seem to also stand firmly against gay marriaga and abortion...sure we all want tax cuts and healthcare -- but they are ALL promising that...i look at it from a much broader view -- seems like a lot of the issues aren't even mentioned. It seems like they all say what the public wants to hear.
I'd agree with Richard...as of right now Layton and the NDP appeal to me the most.
Like i said in some other post so far the conservatives are banking on the fact that the liberals have all this corruption but in reality haven't introduced anything new really...I say they all crap still :thepirate |
Ditto!
You forgot to mention that the Conservatives want to bring back Capital Punishment (Death Penalty) which goes agains our Canadian Charter of Human Rights and Freedom. I think this move is worse than being against gay marriage rights.
Vote NDP to ensure that they are the opposition!!!! Go NDP, Go :D |

true dat!!
If Harper wins, it will be the worst thing to ever happen to Canada.
Everything Canada has done to establish an identity if its own will be thrown away in lieu of trying to be just like the USA.
He wont win though, not a chance. |

Notice how the Liberal logo is really small on those signs yet TEAM MARTIN is huge and in the place where traditionally the huge Liberal logo is supposed to go? I guess this shows that even the Liberals know that their own name and reputation is tarnished.
:D |
You can credit McGuinty for that one |

Its kinda ty that out of all the G8 countries, Canada is the only one that has as many consecutive balanced budgets, which harper will ruin. U.K. and US are studying our platform so the can integrate it to theirs. Deficits are not good for anyone.
Allot of people are hanging the liberals but in hindsight, when the states was going through a "recession", we had economic growth. What happened to the states gets a cold, and we catch pnemonia. So, the fed liberals did fuk up. Chretien did waiste millions, but remember, paul martin did not become rich by waisting money. I have restored faith in martin's vision and believe he knows what hes doing with cash even though he was finance minister during those scandals. This election will humble the arrogance of the grits.
I do like some things Harper stands for, but in the long run, i dont want to pledge my legions to the stars and stripes. <-- (i kinda like that line ;) ) |

anyone but the cons...
damn, some people live in a bubble it seems, doesn't anyone know that Canada can't afford everything at once?!?!?!... cut taxes, then a year or two down the road and we're back into deficit. Then guess what! they'll cut the social programs:mad:
its always the same with the cons, look it up all over the world. |

I dont think Harper is about to alter the charter so he can bring in capital punishment. To alter the charter youd need to approval of every province.
As for his personal views. Chretien was a devout catholic but he didnt change the social structure of Canada to support his views did he? Painting Harper as some sort of religious nut is the greatest Liberal spin ever. I just hope people arent dumb enough to buy it. |

Odd... After reviewing the "Official" Conservative platform that was release this weekend, there is absolutely ZERO mention of any idea / plan / thought of implementing capital punishment. Rather, there are plans to remove the "Faint Hope" clause, statutory early releases, and a move to make serious, violent sentences to be served consecutively, not concurrently.
"Conservatives will re-instate capital punishment"... yet another example of Liberal / NDP / left-wing / what have you fear-mongering propaganda. |

Exactly.... and sadly people buy into it.
I wont fall for it. Harper is looking better and better everyday. At least the guy seems willing to take on the serious issues that everyone else wishes to ignore. |

Noone in the world knows or cares about Canada.
That's the sad truth. |

The Charter doesn't mention the death penalty.
