Gustav Mahler's 5th Symphony is a must.

Well there are four compositors that are considered as the "true masters" of classical music and i suggest checking them out. They are Sibelius, Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky. I can't remember the 4th. I suggest listening to

Mendelssohn concerto in E minor, Sibelius violin concerto in D minor and Tchaikovsky Concerto in D major.

If you're a fan of Beethoven's moonlight sonata (make sure you listen to the 3rd movement as well, because the 3rd movement is my favourite classical piece of all time), then make sure you check out his other sonatas. My favourites are Pathetique (1st and 2nd movements), Appassionata (1st and especially 3rd movemement), and Les Adieux (1st movement). Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody is also one of my favs.

Check out the Gramophone website:

http://www.gramophone.co.uk/recrecordings.asp

They have a list of recommended classical pieces plus the recommended performances or recordings of them.

Check out the forums too - it's pretty good and David Bowie posts on there too! :wtf:
