So im going to need new speakers

Well im in need of them seeing ive blown my last sterio completely (it doesnt play ANYTHING!)
So, seeing you guys seem to know a thing or two about this i thought id find out some good/reliable sepakers form you guys.
Heres what i want to do, Turntables/mixer are comming and ive got nothing to hook them upto atm :sadgreen:
Im going to need a good sub and im gonna need to use these as monitors for mixing obviously.
I have about $1000 AUS = $700 US = $320 UK Pound, to spend on this sterio setup, so i know i can get something decent, but not over the top.
I havent looked into Speakers as of yet, but i need to start, and the best place would be from people with experience, YOU GUYS :D
So some recomendations, and why you chose these, Sites, and what to look for in these speakers/sub would be great, i know im asking a fair bit but i want good stuff you know :) |

| Hey Ossie go have a look in Kosmic Osbourne Park they are having a moving sale and are getting rid of some stuff quite cheap. I just been round my mates and he bought a Phonic package 2 speakers and amp for $1500 from there on the weekend. Never played on big speakers before the sound was amazing !! |

so why are u selling them?
and what is the RMS wattage of these speakers?
btw i cant buy in that time period(unlikely ne way), i dont have the money now, its comming in august, i just tend to like to be able to know exactly what i get then in august i can spend it straight away :P |

| are you looking to get full-range heavy duty live-application speakers? or pro-level monitors? |

I want something i can mix at HOME well with, id like em to be able to handle it loud.
but im not expecting club speakers you know.
Also this needs to be a stereo that i can play CD's on as well (and probably burn CD's from) as well.
So im not just looking at 2 speakers here, i need a CD player with em you know? |

In that case, you're best off with...
a seperate CD-changer/player deck, a decent wuality pro/semi-pro amplifier and passive speakers that the amp can power. |
