1) 1999 - In the clubs, never really did raves, unless they were huge parties in MTL.

2) went from not even knowing what the hell i was listening to some kcik ass music. (and still not know what I'm listening to, and who can reallly categorize it anyways)

I guess I signed off on raves when I hit thirty. I should have quit earlier. That means no more HHC, and no more of the edgier, rawer trance, in my experience.

I have made the final step to techno. More sophisticated, less fluff in general.

Used to love morning trance to end off a party, but now I would prefer some dirty house, or driving, pounding tech.

I really would have been much more of a junglist if it wasn't for the thugh aesthetic that permeates the genre.

a) Started partying in late 2000, when i was introduced to the club scene in London, Ontario. Started going to clubs DV8 and Lush where the sounds at the time were "Better Off Alone", "The Launch", "Rendez-Vu", Etc. A lot of house, and cheesy commercial stuff. My first "rave" was Wintergalactic 2001 w/Tiesto, that night was a very special night (those who were there know what i mean).

b) Hiphop->Commercial->House->Hard House->Trance->Techno->Progressive

c) I really listen to everything, and i know that is what everyone says, but its just the way it is for me. I still pull out my old hip hop cd's from the classic era of 93-96. For electronic, im mainly progressive, techno, tribal and house these days. Classic trance sets like Tiesto's Dutch Dimension 2002 set still comes into rotation, but good trance like that is a lot harder to come by i find.

1. 2002

2. Mainstream stuff (Chemical Brothers, Prodigy, etc.) ---> Trance ----> Harder edge Trance ----> Hardstyle ----> Techno -----> Progressive, House, Tech House

3. What am I digging right now? Progressive (my favourite kind of sets are dirty, hard, chuggy sets mixed with tribal and some acid, electro flavoured house, with a hint of tech house and techno. Lawler, Deko-ze, Digweed, Danny Howells), techno (favourite deejays right now are Dave Clarke, Adam Beyer, Richie Hawtin, Carl Cox). I also enjoy some trance like Christopher Lawrence, and progressive trance like Sasha, Holden, etc.

1) 2002

2) went to numerous raves. loved trance but wanted to x-perience the scene more, so hhc took hold for a short time..

3) these days, mainly techno. mostly the harder, schranz styles of liebing, andreas kremer, beyer. into prog a bit too, mainly zabiela (mmm breaks) and sasha.. digweed sometimes..

but overall, i love techno the most. :disbelief

whats with all the hate for euro and gino beats? u people used to listen to it and like but now u hate it cause its not cool anymore? sounds pretty stupid to me...

i used to listen to it, and when i pop a cd in ones in a blue moon.. i still like it as much as i did back then, same with all the other stuff i used to listen to.
PartyHarlequin
I hated euro/dance from the start. It wasn't a cool/uncool thing I just couldn't stand the music.

A) I started in 1998 with the Rave Scene.

B) Chicago Hard House > Jungle > Trance / Prog (some Prog is cool, not the boring )

C) Jungle, Trance & Prog

I’ve always loved Jungle and Trance at equal level.

1.) 1995 in Kiel, Germany.. Took a Hiatus until 1998.

2.) Rap > Techno > Euro Dance > RAVE > Dance > House > Trance & Prog

3.) 80s and classic Electro (Kraftwerk, MCL, Jarre)

80s music will stand out as my all time favourite.
