ohh !! I LOVE YELLOW CURRY w/ egg noodles.. But maybe we are speaking of something different. I go to a Thai restaurant once a week, I crave it. It's a liquid.. yellow of course, then I add shrimp and the noodle. It comes in a huge bowl and has the consistency of a soup. I usually get it Thai hot and end up paying for it that night and the next morning.. but damn its so worth it :D My favorite restaurant and food in the world + Mediterranean + Indian that is.
X-Multiply: Thanks for the info on the coconut milk !! I'm obsessed with Thai iced tea and I know they have to use half cream or either coconut milk. It's great.. half of the drink is Thai tea while the other half is some sort of dairy fat. It's very sweet and orgasmic. Can't have too many though:( |

| Just to clarify: curry is a kind of spice... or rather a number of spices groiund down into a fine powder. Ingredients often included are coriander, turmeric, chilies, clove, cumin, pepper, ginger, cinnamon, and cassia. Varying these ingredients is what makes the wide variety of tastes that curries can achieve. For instance, although most people think of curry as being yellow that is merely caused by the turmeric in the curry powder. There are also red curries and green curries which have a different mix of spices. When making a curry I don't recommend store-bought curry-powder as it uses a lot of the cheaper spices and very little of the more expensive spices. That's why restaurant curries tend to taste so much better. |
