Complimentary synths,.. matching them up

I have a jp8080 right now. It's pretty kick ass. But I want to get another hardware synth that will compliment it. You know, fill in what the JP is missing. Any suggestions on what synths go well with the JP's fuzzy sound? Or for that matter, how about just posting any two synths that are a good match, and why?

1.Virus B or C
2.Nordlead 3

Derosas,

I have the JP-8000, and the 2 synth's I picked up after that, that is working good for me is, the :

1. Virus KC
2. Novation SuperNova II

all 3 going, it's like a orchestra :) but I still would like to get the Nord Lead 3, and maybe the Waldorf Q+

the more the marry'ier ;)

Hope that helps.

cool, I was considering the Supernova. I want a synth that has a clearer tone than the JP. I'm borrowing my friends Virus C which is pretty f$#kin sweet on it's own. Not sure I like the Virus+JP combo a whole lot though, a fuzzy synth with a fuzzier (JP) synth. The Nord is also another one I was considering since it's tone is pretty clear.

Has anyone compared the Nord Rack 3 with the Rack 2?

Hey there, guy. I have a Nord Rack 2...it's sweet on it's own. Honestly, I couldn't justify buying the Nord 3. Yeah, technically the 3 is better...you know...more polyphony, alphanumeric LCD, more bells and whistles but not so much that it'll be a black/white difference.

:)

don't get the supernova 2. the virus would be a much better choice. I have a nordlead 3 and it sound completley different from the nord2. the whole engine was rewritten for the nordlead3.

I think the nordlead3 and a virus kc would be a match made in heaven. When it comes to pads, nobody does it better than the nordlead3, but for leads the virus and jp take the cake. Waldorf q is also really good but the company went bye bye so if it breaks you would be hard pressed to find someone to fix it.

I'll be buying the powercore virus in a few months to compliment my nord3. In terms of sonic quality of the sound i never heard a better sounding synth than the nord3. It has a few dsp5632 chips in it, 4 or 6 if im not mistaken.

Just go demo them and decide for yourself, its the best way. everyone has different opinions.

Thanks man, I'm going to go check out the Nord3 tomorrow. Hopefully I can find one for a decent price if I decide I to get it. Thanks for all you inputs!

I had JP8000 & Yamaha CS6X syth. Does it really match? ONly like the Chorus sounding of CS6X. Thinking of selling it to get Virus C or KC. Or rather NL3? :)
