| I use channel faders for mixes but the crossfader for cuts and tricks. |

| yeah channel faders to bring tracks in and out usually (sometimes use the x-fader, depends if i want it to be a quick removal), but x-fader for cuts and tricks. |

Channel faders for control. For added control I then work the crap out of the gain and bass eq. Never touch anything else (Not counting effects) unless I'm scratching.

Havent touched the X fader in about 2 years- not once. Even for scratching or beat juggling.
Purely channel faders and loads of eq fun. |

you never use the mid & hi eq's? curious..
i guess its all about what you are doing with it tho, i sometimes find it sounds a lot better if you fade a track out with the eq's before the fader.
i personally wouldn't touch the gain while i'm in a mix, i think it would be too easy to up the levels that i've spent time setting correctly :toothless |

I always EQ out a bit before bringing the fader down.
But on the odd time it is nice to increase the gain. |

| simple, channel faders all the way. i mean, after you do that backspin, all you can really do is slap the volume fader down. :p |

of course i must be the odd ball.......i started out on knobs/sliders for 4 years .....then for the past 2 i have been on the x fader.....say what u want i find it much easier to work with.....and i always have 1 hand free......alot of crossfaders out there are ....but get a high end adjustable curve one and i love them....the best ones i have used are on the pmc 46 mk2, rane 2016, and on my 92......the crossfader on the 62 is wack....the pioneer600 is ok the 500 is no good forget the vestax 27 series.......
the crossfader is designed to make a djs life easiar.....but everyone seems to think they have to do it the harder way to"be better" or because they get better control......like i said i was on channel faders for 4 years then went to the xfader for the past 2......i get better control with the crossfader.... |
