feeling absolutely .
1) managed to grab the wrong fibers as i left work (50u, not 62.5u) which necessitated a 11:00pm run from the the primary site to the backup site and back again
2) found the interface that i plugged one of the fibers into on the firewall was bung
3) comms finally worked, but no useful traffic was crossing
4) somehow managed to apply the primary site changes to the backup site, had to back them out by hand
5) still couldn't get anything to work
6) had to back the whole shebang out
7) will have to try it again in a couple of weeks, but now we'll have to actually use scheduled downtime (think sunday 3am)
8) have a meeting with the CIO in the morning (not about this) but right after this has happened
9) still sitting at work, waiting for things to be tested, even though it should have only taken about 1 minute and i tested everything very very carefully the last two days
10) will have to figure out what went wrong by trawling through 50Gb of logs :(
so all in all, pretty right now actually. |

I'm going for seven .. leaving this job and starting a new one in a few weeks, and about to get an extra month's pay as a sort of golden handshake :D
Plus I ordered another bunch of records last night :D |
