| As I said, like you could do a better job than he did. Being the head of state in any country is not easy, balancing what the voters want, what is best for the country. I mean I don't like the decisions of some but the job is not easy by any stretch of the imagination. Reagan did a lot for the USA and it is sad to see people just attacking the poor man who suffered from a horrible disease. Let the man have his legacy. I mean all heads of state tend to get huge funerals, even in Canada. Tho the only problem that I have is why did they pick Brian Mulroney to speak at his funeral, the only thing he had in common is he was prime minster during Reagan's years. |

Who is more fun to talk to? A middle of the road "every thing is ok, i guess" person or someone who stands up for what they believe in (regardless if you agree with that belief).
There is a certain validity to the idea of diametrics clashing and synthesizing eternally. Im just glad that America occasionally produces a man with his own ideas who isnt out to suck everyones dick for once.

yeah i watched it, i agree it was pretty neat to watch the whole pomp and precision going into everything. The broadcasters kept saying that it has been about 30 years since the last funeral procession for a president (since JKF i guess)
They said no other president that has passed away (Nixon, Johnson) wanted to have a full procession like this.
I think it was quite befitting of Reagan to choose to have this done, and I'm glad i was able to watch and witness it. It'll give me something to tell my grandkids later on.. |

The Cold War lasted a long time tho, most of us were not born when it started but most lived during a part of it. I mean it ended in 1990 (so unless you are 14, I believe you lived during it) |
