Reagan was in office for eight years and brought down the Berlin Wall and defeated the USSR de facto. That should count for something.

he had a true gift for letter writing
"I'm in the sunset of my life"
from his address to the nation after being diagnosed with alsheimers
God Bless
may his sole rest in peace
horribal way to pass . .
alsheimers is horriable
my grandfather has it
for the past 5 years
i've gone to his house every day to help him
we paint gourds, he loves to do that. but it just kills me to see how much he is degrading every day . . .
no one deserves to die like that . . |
My grandmother died from Alzheimers. Horrible disease. No words to describe it. When she quit recognizing me as her grandaughter it tore my heart out. No decent person deserves to die like that and no decent family deserves to go through watching a loved one's mind deteriorate like that.
No man that served as president of our country deserves to die not remembering one of the greatest accomplishments of his life. |

i agree.
this is what actually turned me to pro-genetic engeenering
we could eliminate all genetic diseases: alsheimers, diabeties . . etc. |

are people retarded? i see the same in here as the last one...
ANYWAY i was so sad to hear reagan died. to be honest, i'm not THAT familiar with his presidency, but his relationship with his wife was so inspiring. i watched this special about their entire relationship, and the two were literally a team. she was behind him every step of the way, even in death.
god bless his family and he will definitely leave a legacy. |

Indeed...their relationship was inspiring. I can only pray that I am blessed with someone that I feel that passionately about. At the end of life what is more important? |

This thread is so gay. Praising a guy that in no way deservs it. And its even more gay that you guys dont see the truth of his regime. Saying he was a great leader... Maybe for all you patriotic americans, but for the rest of the world he was mad man. You see, we dont see the things we want to see, we look further.
Reagan, a man saw the world in black and white and cos of that hundrets of thousands of innocent ppl meet their death. On his merit list: massmurder in latin America, support for Sadam, and an aids catastorphy he chose ignored. What a great man indeed!
In guatemala and El Savador, he financed death patrols. He even went so far as to secretly sell weapons to Iran in order to hide the support for the right-wing guerillas in Nicaragua.
It was reagan that laid the foundation of todays problem with Iraq. In secret, he gave sadam support against the war with Iran. No protests was heard from reagan when sadam used chemical warfare.
When the rest of the world was putting sanctions on South Africa becuase of their racist policies, reagan eased them. He saw South-Afrika as an important ally against communism. To him this was more imporant than the black opression.
With this same argument, Reagan pumped money to guerillas in Afghanistan in order to resist the sovijet invasion. Through this, the taliban and al-qaida was able to rise.
Reagen did nothing to stop the exploded AIDS grotwth in the US. The first time he even mentioned the subject was in a speech just before he left the white house. During his rule over 20, 000 americans died from aids, but to him, they were to blame themselves.
It is often said that it was reagen that ended the cold war (in america anyways). Not true! Reagen just happened to come to office at a time when the USSR alreay was weakened. It was Gorbatjov policiy of openess that contributed to its fall. Any president could have been in the white house, and the USSR would still have fallen!
But I guess all this wont matter to you guys!! Go on and live in your little patrotic lies. Not my loss..
Rest in peace for all who innocently lost thier lives because of reagan. |
