The beat is almost nonexistent, the melody is oversimplified and cheesy (not to mention that little synth stab that's blatantly ripped from Matti Laamanen), there's no bass whatsoever and the percs are just poor.

I've always considered mr. Helstrip to be one of the most skilled artists to do "regular" trance. But this tracks just... wrong. |

I can't believe what I'm hearing in here. I think people are just so damn spoiled with their trance! Please tell me exactly what it is with this track that makes you hate it so much! The melody is nice and continious, which I like. Listening to it on live speakers, bass lines are pretty solid too.
If you think this is a piece of , I want to hear some of your work! Please. Give some sort of idea as to what you think good trance is. Because if this is not classified as good?, I'm really interested as to what you listen too.
You probably like to play the spoons too don't you? |

That is the classic single worst defending argument for music ever; "well if you think it's bad then I'd like to see you do better", since when did anyone have to be a superior producer in order to criticise other tunes? (for the record I've heard some of mr mystery's productions and believe them to be superior to this but that's beside the point).
I think it's trite, the note sequence in the melody sounds really simple & *too* happy, beyond euphoric & verging on cheesy territory. The basschord progression doesn't do anything for me either, simple & nothing new. Whole thing just progresses in a really straightforward and unimaginitive manor. Still, won't have a go at people for liking it... that's just my opinion.
Good trance? Check out 90% of the other tunes by him. |
