Sound Quality in Reason / Especially Drum Samples

Is it just me or do you think Reason's Sound Quality is very weak?
Especially the Redrum Samples sound extremly average. Could you recommend me a better solution for creating drum and percussion sounds?
As long as i work in Reason Quality is good, but if i listen to the exported wav files i'm always a little bit disappointed as they sound weaker in my opinion...
Any Help or alternatives? |

Reason has a - 6DB limit or whatever. It reduces volume.
BUT it doesn't reduce volume only, it reduces quality too.
we already discuss this problem. You are one of those people who realized the quality loss. Some people seem to be "deaf" or at least not sensitive enough ( or the listen on crappy loudspeakers / monitors :gsmile: ).

Propellerheads are ignoring the problem spending lots of money for getting Prodigy and other famous artists to improve the reputation of Reason. But just trust your ears...Ever wondered why Reason is so CPU saving... ? |

Thanks for your answer...
Well, i think reason offers huge possibilities but they are limited due to this quality problem. A professional program should be able to provide professional sound quality. It's disappointing to have great sounds which will be reduced by exporting....... |

i never noticed that vision..
got any proof? or i prefer more 2 samples..one with a rewire to cubase or FL and one sample from reason.

am sure that the many labels that signed tunes that made with Reason are deaf also and have bad speakers ..
am saying this because you say sound quality is needed for an pro sound right? am assuming thats what you say or think, or els this whole discussion would never started. |

| why is it that when you rewire reason to cubase 2.0 is sound much better? |

i wouldn't know since i don't have cubase ...thats why i asking 2 samples 1 from cubase for example and 1 from reason, but the sounds must come from reason..i'd like to hear :) |

| sound quality isn't always what people are looking for and the proof for that is that a guy got signed to a label using mtv music generator one for playstation 1.I would agree that cubase has a much better rendering program and have to say that the stuff that comes out of cubase sounds much crisper.(unless its from someone who doesn't know what they are doing.) |

Seems that CUBASE doesn't have that - 6DB limit or whatever. It sounds just louder ... or am I wrong? I have noticed the difference too but i thought its only louder. |

| what about rewiring into fruity loops? Does anybody know if floops has the 6db limit or anything which could compimise quality? |

| Good point, somebody must make some examples! |

| ehh.. if it normalizes to -6 why don't you open it up afterwards in cool edit and boost it by +6 ? doesn't seem remotely like a problem to me. sound quality reducing to boost CPU perfomance should be optional though |
