These are some of the big boys, go have a read.

if you count the ms2000, the jp8000 with these then the yamaha an1x is there too for sure, it has more polyphony then jp and ms.

If it's your first synths I'd stick away from the older and lower polyphony/multitimbral synths. And unless you're rich I'd stick away from the A6 too. Go for a novation, virus, lead, q.

hey, i'm looking for the AN200, it's almost identically with the AN1X and it's horrible cheap (~300$ new).

i've already a virus and would like to use the AN200 for basslines and background sounds.

is it worth the money? and isn't it weak in the bass-frequencies?

so long

it's a bit weaker like it's only 5 voices whereas the an1x has 10, has only 1 lfo ..
to answer your question YES³
Altho I don't use it for basses and it does not excel at it it's very usefull for basses.. especially with the fm synthesis. You can make some tranzy basses in no time. You can do nice efx with it too and it has some veryyyyy neat pads and acid lines. I was planning to post some samples but my 6 fire is ing up my records again so it'll be for another time. I think this is the only synth I've used in every song I've made since I got it, ... still my favorite synth. Glad I chose this one before the jp8000. So much underrated

thx! then i'll order it :D

I just sold my AN200 for $150. It's the pics in my profile and avatar. It was OK, but I have a JP8080 and a Virus C, so it was no longer needed. I used it mostly for basses. One thing I liked about it is that it was very clean sounding, but a little weak.

im torn between the JP8000 and the V-Synth.......or mabye i should go with virus. which of the three do you think i should go with?
trancenrg69
Virus withuut a doubt. 16 parts, more poly, better sound, more programming possiblities.
twisted420
does the virus have weighted keys, so if i wanted to play piano sounds it would somewhat act like a real piano. i need a good synth with these capabilities
trancenrg69
They are semi -weighted.
twisted420
semi? how can it be semi weighted?

trancenrg69
Semi-weighted keyboards combine the spring loaded mechanism of hardware synths, with the addition of light weights attached to each key, similar to those found in weighted action or hammer action keyboards. The result is a key that has light to moderate resistance when you press it. Semi-weighted is for those who don't need or want the full resistance of a weighted action.

i think im gunna go with the Virus kb. thank you all for your help!:D
