| beckham screwed up the penalty, hitting it exactly where goalkeepers like them. low or high but not in the middle like that. The defender should have been sent off for the tackle, but so should david james for his dismal effort. i think it would dramatically improve england's chances is james was sent off and suspended. |

it was so obvious he was going left hand side, that's his style of kicking i dont think he can kick a ball without curving it to the left, lampard should have taken it. Oh and zidane played an absolute game , did jack the whole game except take a very nice freekick, fair enough, and score a penalty (big woop, that's not hard), non existent in the first half due to lampard caining his arse, everytime he got snapped he had a little whingey look on his face :D

I think that's the sign of a great player - down and out for the entire match yet in two actions, he wins the game for his team. |

The game had echoes of the final when France came from 1-0 down with minutes left to eventually win the game 2-1 against Italy. I was close to tears....... |

England was obviously outclassed.
It seems France perform best under extreme pressure, Zidane has a tendency to unleash during the dying minutes. |
