I use Reason 2.5
I have a stupid question :) How can I use hardware synth? How my synth will appear in Reason? I will be able to load a synth path in subtractor for example? :conf: |

Bad Bad question RIGA ;)
Reason is closed system! Your hardware synths doesn't appear to REASON :( Its impossible.
you can always use your harware synth synced with some sequencer and rewired with REASON and mixdown the layers together. |

Bad reply Tallin!
You mean I can use Cubase for my hardware synth and rewire with Reason?
O.k. I compose a melody in a Cubase sequencer...but how can get the hardware synth sound for composed melody?
:nervous: |

hi!
If I'm really honest then I dont have no hardware to sync with Cubase.
But what comes with REASON part I replied to you , I'm 100% sure.

:nervous: | By connecting your synthesizer to your computer using MIDI. Then choose the MIDI output on which your synth is connected in Cubase to send your sequence data to. |

you can use your synth the same way if you did not have reason :)
you cannot use your hw synth in reason, because it cannot import audio tracks. therefore it wont appear in reason. you might (maybe) drive the midi output from one track to the synth by using midiyoke or some similar midi driver, but it won't help you much i think.
and you cannot import substractor patch in your synth, because they are different synths - it is somethink like importing a access virus lead in a nord lead synth. it does not work because they are different. |

So, people who uses Reason dont use hw synth? Because they cant use them without rewiring Reason?
It means, if I want hw synth I should drop reason and get cubase for example? |

something like that. propellerheads homepage just states that midi can be streamed between two rewire apps ..... it looks like it does not support midi out (out of reason or rewire) for external gear.
fruity can control hardware btw ..... not that i would get it for that :)
and you got two things confused .... rewiring is something else, it is not in any way connected to hardware. rewire is a protocol for exchanging audio between software applications, and does not matter at all when hardware is concerned. |

Some people sample single notes from their hardware synth and put these samples into the Reason synths. Works quite well, but if you want best quality, you better control your hardware synth with something like cubase.
