I heard mistress B and she was brutal, but to each their own.

Its all musical preference

It is musical preference, and I completely respect your opinion of Miss b.

But I'm certainly not going to try and tell you to shut up!

What I heard on Friday from tiesto was utterly disappointing - and I went in there with no expectations. I used to adore tiesto, he used to be my #1 DJ, but what he did on Friday did not warrant being called the #1 DJ in the world! It was horrible, and I'm not just talking about track selection, I'm talking about the flow to his set, his ridiculously simple mixing, his crowd interaction was weak. Even some tiesto fans were disappointed.

starsearcher needs to get a sense of humor: I was being sarcastic.

Skipper, you must hate him so much for a reason, or are you just bitter?

Oh I never told you to shut up. Just your previous comments pissed me off. I also missed the humour, but I guess thats the forums for you ;)

Dj Tiesto also got me into this scene and maybe his performance was not as good as they were before but it was still awesome! The tracks he played off his new album sounded amazing in the club. It maybe true that his set lacked flow or his mixing wasnt 100%, but he is playing day in day out and that aint easy!

I see where you are going with the (#1 DJ in the World) and that he should perform like one. Maybe he doesnt deserve to be #1 but he got there somehow. To me it doesnt matter if he is #1 or #1000000.... I would still go out to his shows. I have been following him from 1999 and still like him today.

He sounded quite humble in the interview, but maybe he is quite different in person. I have no idea :conf:

Ok, enough of the bitching, complaining, arguing, etc.

Thanks.

Thanks, but this is a discussion forum. We can't agree all the time.

speedy: I thought he was humble in the interview until the guy asked him what was the biggest change/reform in electronic music in the last 5 years, and he basically said himself and Ferry, always creating new music...

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but jeez! The guy wasn't even asking specifically about trance.

To clarify, I did think the last 30 minutes of his set was pretty intense. (trance isn't my thing but when it's good I can still recognize it.) That was some crazy tech trance, and he set it up very well for Barbara to come on and smash the whole place down til noon!

SILENCE!!! Discussion is not allowed!

No we can't agree...Mrs. B - 49th place on the top 100 list ;)

Besides can you blame him for thinking that him and Ferry have changed/dominated the music scene...ask anyone who knows nothing about trance or dj about what DJs you know and i'll guarantee you that most have heard of Tiesto....after all him and ferry are the only ones who have their tunes playing on Z103
It's perfectly normal to feel that way when every single day of your like ppl tell you are the best you are got and you are amazing :thepirate

And just for the record I'll have to admit with Speedy he was actually very nice, calm, and humble throughout the interview and even I didn't expect him to be like that. He had a 25 minute interview with practically a nobody - no offence but who was this guy doing the interview anyway?? :thepirate

lol..you will never see any techno DJ reach #1 on that list...that list has more to do with the popularity of various genres than it does with individual DJs.

The top 5 on that list are going to be the same (just in rotation) for the next couple of years I think.

So long as Paul Oakenfold never reaches #1, I can live with it. The day that happens is the day I go back to listening to edge 102.1!
starsearcher
Hehehe Oakie was #1 before no?
And I was pretty sure that Coxy was #1 at some point as well

In any case yeah Oakenfold...don't think he can make #1 again he's getting too old anyways
